What is Zoroark's hair "bead" made of?

Been talking with some friends about this recently, and I can't find any kind of answer. What is the "bead" made of? (bead in quotes because I've found no info saying it definitely is one.) Based on the color and shape of it, we've generally agreed that it's likely made of turquoise, and assuming it is torus with a large radius of 5cm, small radius of 2cm, and a density of 2.8g/cm^3 (that of a relatively dense turquoise sample), it would only weigh ~1lb. If you have any other thoughts on what it might be, I'd love to discuss, or if you have a source of actual canon for it, that'd be great as well.
 
A topic dedicated to a single part of a Pokemon? That's... deep.

Most Pokemon "clothes" are actual body parts, such as Medicham's trousers, Mr. Mime's shoes, or Scrafty's suspenders, so it's not likely that a wild Zoroark would really wear a real piece of jewelry. Machoke and Machamp wear tights, so that's something, but... knowing Pokemon, that "bead" could be some sort of organ that distorts reality and grants Zoroark the illusions that it has.

Well, unless Zoroark has some kind of antenna or tendril growing out of its head to anchor all that hair to, that bead is most definitely an accessory added after the mane grew in.

Machoke and Machamp are odd. According to this page, their trunks are just a pattern on their bodies rather than actual clothes. Meanwhile the Pokédex has said that their belts are removable. While that answers the question of their trunks, it is still up in the air as to whether their belts are artificial or if they are some kind of extremely complex organic feature that can be shed, and potentially reworn, at will.

(On a similar note, Throh and Sawk’s belts are fashioned from vines according to the Pokédex, although I suspect that their gi are actual skin/hide.)

So Zoroark could go either way. The gem could be organic, but there is plenty of room to think of it as an accessory, much like how Spoink gets their psy-enhancing pearls from Clamperl.

I think that might be more of a pattern on the Ma's. Their form is... er... realistic. The kind of realistic you see when browsing for men's underwear at the store. There's also a subtle texture pattern on their tights seen on both 2D and 3D, which no skin (or scales in this case) would rightfully have.
 
I would rather go the external accessory added on later route, in the same manner as Spoink's pearl, as it seems like the most plausible explanation.
