You're at the Poké Mart and you need to buy some items... what are you buying? Antidotes or Full Heals? Repels? Escape Ropes? 10 Poké Balls so you can get the Premier Ball?

Basically, in this thread, talk about your purchases. What do you normally buy from the Poké Mart? Are there items you think are more efficient than others? You don't necessarily have to talk about Poké Marts, as there are plenty of other places in the game where you can buy items.

As for me, you'll find me on the rooftop of Celadon buying Lemonades lol.

Ultra Balls, Quick Balls, Dusk Balls, Timer Balls, and sometimes Repeat Balls depending on the game are my go to balls to buy at a Poké Mart. They're very reliable to me, especially Quick Balls.

Depending on my progress in the story, I try to get the best healing items possible too. If a Vending Machine is available, I try to get a Lemonade or Soda Pop since they're more cost effective than Potions or Super Potions. As soon as Full Heals are available, I sell all my status healing medicine and buy Full Heals instead.

If we're playing gen 1-6, Hyper Potions are a must for me to have. They heal 200 HP, which is usually more than enough to fully heal anything on my team during the main story. Not a lot of mons can reach over 200 HP during the main story, usually reaching that high really really late in the post game. So buying Hyper Potions instead of Max Potions are good for me. However, I still buy a few Full Restores, just in case.

I look at what TMs are on offer too and buy the one that fits best on my team.

And of course, buy the best Repels possible. Max Repels, especially. If in LGPE, if I wanna go Mon hunting, I want to have some Lures handy.

The one thing I make sure I do buy is PokeBalls(can be various types) I never carry less than 20 PokeBalls at a time because Ive had at least one scare with a random shiny encounter and having exactly one PokeBall and got seriously lucky the shiny was caught. You just never really know if you arent specifically looking for a shiny when you may run into a random shiny.

As for other items? Depends on need. I will buy things like Lemonade if Im at a mart where its available.

Whatever regular ball (Great/Ultra) has the highest catch rate available atm, Quick Balls, Timer Balls, whatever highest healing potions are available with some smaller cheaper ones sprinkled in, Full Heals and Revives. Also Repels in the older games.

Pokéballs I try to have many on me at all times. Otherwise, I don't get too carried away with my item purchases, especially in modern games where clothing is a big priority for me lol, so I usually stick to a few of the essentials.

Preparing for the Elite 4 though I'll be a lot more excessive, getting at least 15 - 20s of Full Restores and Revives and even then they're typically not enough lol.

My priorities are generally going to be healing items, with Balls if my budgeting allows it, but its never really more than 10 until I am have disposable money reserves. The only times where if the game was skewed towards balls was if I was aiming to more catching than expected or knowing I am not really getting into enough fights that hp attrition is a concern, especially when healing access is more abundant in later games. Generally my ratio of healing to capture balls is approximately 3-1 or so. I feel I do my spending like how I would handle spending irl since I have decent finance sense according to some relatives.

I usually buy Dusk Balls, Net Balls, Quick Balls, TMs, Repels, Revives, Hyper Potions (before the Sun/Moon nerf), and drinks (in Generations I - III, as in later generations, the jingle starts playing every time you buy a drink, which is just annoying).
