What kind of types you like? what is you're style of battling? why you use/not use legendary pokemon?

Give your thoughts

I use Fire and Psychic (among other types). My team usually has some starters and some Legendaries. My battle style isn't too strategic... I don't use rocks or spikes or anything like that. Usually I just use my most powerful attack or I use an attack that gives me the STAB. Also I don't focus on held items. And I don't switch my Pokémon to get the type advantage (unless I'm stuck in a matchup like Psychic against Dark, Normal against Ghost, or Fire against someone with Flash Fire... and even then I don't switch unless I have no attacks that can do any damage). As for Legendary Pokémon... I use them. I see no reason not to. When people make some rule like "no Legendaries" it doesn't help to make it any more fair because people will just use the strongest non-Legendary available. But I don't use the Legendaries just for their strength... I use the ones that I think are cool. For example, I like Mew more than I like Arceus, even though Arceus is stronger. So I have Mew on my team and not an Arceus.

I try to create a balanced team and use more pseudo-legendaries than legendaries. I also try to set up my team with good moves, although I don't take the time to EV or IV train. I guess I try to maintain a balance between "effective fight team" and "I like these Pokemon" (such as Luxray - he's not the best electric type, but I use him frequently - he even brought down my friend's Darkrai). Always have to have electric, my favorite type, and fire and I try to stay away from bug/poison types - I'd rather just teach someone else on my team Toxic or something. I pay close attention to types, moves, and type advantages. I guess, on a scale from noob to hardcore, I'd be about a 7 or 8.

The type of team I used could be balanced, in which there will be various types with unique roles, so that I have the essentials. As for my favourite types to use, it's Grass and Ghost.

Anyway, This is more of a video games thread, since the context is more towards that.

Thanks for reading.

Whatever I fall in love with divided by what is Practical(HM slave for useless HM moves, flyer, surfer)

This sums up my strategy(s), if I've got any. I only use damaging moves. My rule of thumb is at least use 1 STAB move too, and no more than 2 if I can help it. My favorite moves are Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt, since they're effective agasint quite a bit of types... and got nice effects too. I've also got two sets of teams: An all-powerful legendary team, and a not-banned-from-tournaments team (that may include some non-banned legendaries and pretty much pseudo-legendaries).
My favorite type I guess is the Dragon and Psychic, on the battlefield anyway. But Fire is my favorite type. I also try to concentrate on either physical or special attacks, so my favorite natures are Modest and Adamant. You could say I'm more of an offensive centered player... One thing though: I hate all grass types. Bugs too (if it weren't for Volcarona and Genesect, I'd hate them).

I don't really fight with other people though... It'd be great to test my skills sometime.

What I was referring to were the past versions of Whirlpool, Dive, Rock Smash, Waterfall and Flash, in addition to Cut and Strength.

i love Surf, Waterfall and Dive post-Gen IV. update and former HM Rock Climb in Single/Rotation Battles, and Fly in Triple Battles. With the improvements to Former HMs Rock Smash, Whirlpool and Flash,, and the Gen V. Removal of Strength's necessity, only Cut suffered a true regression in usefulness, due to it's status as Master Repel for open-air routes, because it could cut long/tall grass, and therefore remove that obstacle fast! They could at least give it a secondary effect/make it 55 power/Unable to miss(but that would defy it's Japanese name of Iai Cut)/give it back it's really useful function of being better than Repels at getting rid of teh most common wild Pokémon! I hate wasting money on Max Repel, when there used to be something better(at least in long/tall grass):CUT! What, did Eco-terrorists complain in secret, and the government again censored Pokémon by saying"No more Cutting Tall Grass to save your business's a**!"?

My first playthrough is always casual. After that however, I play using the very best of what's available.

I will not hesitate to dump my starter (as I did in Black) and have no qualms about using Legendaries. As I said, I use only the best because I play to win optimally.

I breed Pokemon in-game to get particular moves on them and I go for the best natures as well but not IVs.

I don't look at a pokemon as a legendary. I see it as just anothet Pokemon. If it suits my team, I will use it.

I'm quite into experimenting with rarely used combinations (Flame Body Chandelure,Mix Hydreigon etc.) I usually breed for everything except egg moves.

When choosing my Pokemon,I generally choose consistency over raw power,so stall strategies suit me best.

And I don't have anything against using legendaries, people should choose what suits them best. I personally don't use them, but that's due to fact that none of them fit on my team.

I use balanced teams of my favorites (plus making sure it adapts to the current metagame) and EV train during and after the story mode.

I only use my favorite Pokemon, most of them have high attack and speed, and low defenses.

I don't like Pokemon like Shuckle and stuff which need specific strategies to function, in-game, I only use attacking moves.

I'm a very balanced trainer, I like to have both a variety of types (At least one Normal and Water-type is essential) and equal levels for my teams. Even though I know it's probably easier to breeze through the game with just one Pokemon, I just don't enjoy playing it like that as much.

I hate using legendaries, and I usually stick to pokemons that I caught before Victory Road. I prefer Speed and Attacks over everything, and I never buy anything much until I'm ready to face the Elite 4. I stock up on at least 200 Energy Roots (the ones that functions like Hyper Potions), 200 Revives, and 100 Moo-Moo milks.

In-game I don't repeat types, not one. I also try to keep my Pokemons' levels as close to each other as possible. As long as the Pokemon is visually pleasing then I'll use it, the type doesn't necessarily matter, nor does its strength (as almost any Pokemon can work well in-game). I take my time when adventuring and often train a single Pokemon just to use its type advantage against a gym, or such; even though I could walk in with a type disadvantage and still win, it's fun to take my time. I have a lot of other weird idiosyncrasies when I play Pokemon, too. Haha, I guess that's just the kind of trainer I am.

The first I'm in a region, I just play the game, go with the flow, and form a team for the game. Also I end up catching alot of Pokemon, basically 'cause I don't know them.

I like ones that suit my fancy, basically ones that I like the way you look, which is alot. I form my team from there with ones that have mostly good, ballenced stats.

I like Moves like Hydro Pump, Thunder, and Fire Blast. The ones with High Power, but Low Accuassy. I also keep moves, like Hyper Beam just in case. Those are the ones that you need to recharge after a use. I also keep Mid Power, with High Accuassy moves like, Thunderbolt and Surf.

I seam to perfer Sp. Attack over Attack.

I don't really use moves like Swords Dance or Tail Whip. The ones that lower or higher stats. However, I am easing up to them.

I don't EV train.

I know my types.

I use a diverse set of Pokemon.

I never usually ditch my starter.

I tend to use the Mascot Legendary, like Zekrom in Black or Giratina in Platnium.

I'll post more later.

I tend to use dual types I use fighting dark flying ground a grass or electric dragon and water mostly. I almost only use attacks and don't use lengendaries because you can/t breed them and it seems pretentious.

Ingame my strategy is "hit it till it's dead." But I've come to respect defensive teams.
