I was wondering whether or not I should make this thread and decided "wynaut?".

For me, it's the fact that Pokémon has so many different forms. The video games, the animé, the TCG, etc. If I ever get bored with one thing and yet still want to do something with Pikachu's face on it, I'll simply move onto something else Pokémon related. If all this franchise was was the video games, I really don't think I'd be as drawn into it as I am.

Indeed, were it not for the TCG, manga, anime and spin-off video games, I would not be constantly reminded of the superiority of the traditional games.

The fact the world it takes place in is enchanting, bright, and much better then the state the world is in today.

Yeah, it is a great escape.

I guess I like it because there is something for everyone. Not just in terms of different media, like you guys were talking about games, anime, manga, TCG, etc., but that there are so many different Pokémon with different traits. Naturally, someone who adores penguins in real life is going to think something like Pochama is adorable and will be interested in its origins.

For me, it's the whole "adventuring" aspect, and I get rather attached to my little pixelated creatures. I like the games and anime more than most other aspects of the fandom, but the games I love best by far.

I have an addictive personality. Though I tend to eventually lose interest in obsessions, a new Pokemon generation comes around just in time to keep me going. Imagine someone trying kick smoking and then being force fed cigarettes momentarily before they are free, and you will understand my tragic circumstances. Basically, Gamefreak/Nintendo have me sussed.
