What Mega Evolutions Should Main Character(s) Use?

Since Mega Evolutions will probably make it's way into the main character's hands sooner or later, which ones would you like to see the main characters take advantage of it?

Besides Ash, I wouldn't mind seeing Clemont using it for a Mega Manectric. I would also like to see Jessie using it for a Mega Banette.
 
Well, you have the basic ideas (Ash with Mega-Charizard, Sceptile, Misty with Mega Gyarados, Brock with Mega-Steelix, May with Mega-Blaziken and Mega-Venasaur, etc), and you have the potential ideas. With the odd directions X and Y goes in, for all we know Ash is catching an Audino who can mega-evolve next.
 
I could definitely see Mega-Audino kicking the crap out of people at the pokemon league xD
 
Ash has his Charizard, Heracross and Sceptile, all of whom are species that can Mega Evolve. It's just a question of whether he'll actually bring one of them along with him.

Most people speculate that Ash will have a Mega Y Charizard.

Such as Yours Truly, as I wrote about in my blog, speculating that he could go up against Alain and Megazard X.
 
Ash also has a Glalie. Admittedly I only found that after checking to see about his Pidgeot (which was effectively released but can maybe be retrieved).

I doubt Ash will go through the hassle of retrieving his Pidgeot. He probably has no idea where it is.

Unlike his other mega capable pokemon.

Yeah it would be interesting to see a battle between Ash and Alain.
 
Something interesting I've noticed among a lot of Mega Evolution users in Pokemon media is that the Pokemon they Mega Evolve tend to share a similar color palette or appearance (i.e. design motifs) with its owner either in all their forms or just their Mega Evolution, the most obvious case of this being Alain and Charizard. So if we take this into account, along with the whole concept of Trainer and Pokemon sharing a strong bond, the Mega Evolution I can most likely imagine Ash getting is Mega Charizard X. Yeah, it's extremely overrated and a cliche pick but that's just my opinion. As for Clemont and Serena, I have absolutely no clue what they could get, let alone if they will be receiving one at all, at least in the latter's case, that is.
 
Mega evolution as one of most revolutionary discovery in pokemon world which apparently has its roots in Hoenn in anime universe, and wasnt started to be better comprehended until its full debut in Kalos through dedicated work of prof. Sycamore and others:

Should be reserved imo for trainers and people who could benefit most in advancing their careers through use of such powerful boost.

Here are top 4 important characters from pokemon series i would like to see with mega evolution and which one of them:

Ash- pretty much no brainer. He proved through innovation,huge determination and persistence to be ahead of his peers and many adults in pulling out natural qualities and power from his pokemon.
With long list of achievements and defeated foes serving as confirmation to this.

I truly hope at very least he will be able to mega evolve one of his pokemon. Either Charizard or Sceptile reflecting effort, let downs and strong friendship they carefully built over the years. Entering next stage of power and skill which would be of immense hgelp in tough battles during Kalos league and his pokemon master dream.

Misty- for Misty mega evolution means significant step forward in her goal of becoming water pokemon master. Because from any type master its expected to be able to use his pokemon to full potential and this was even accentuated by sea priest Maya in Whirl Cup.

So seeing her on journey to collect key and mega stone passing through various temptations and difficulties putting to test bond between her and Gyarados and if they could achieve strong enough bond to allow him to reach its ultimate form. After going through hell in taming Gyarados in Cerulean almost losing life showing big resourcefiulness and sharp thinking. Would be very logical and clever way of advertizing virtues of water specie through most famous and liked among fans water specialist out there(no pun intended).

Promoting mega Slowbro and its wacky, unique design through Misty could be interesting option too. Driving her crazy possibly with its dense, relaxed nature posing challenge to unlock its hidden potential.

May- she may be coordinator, but in batle style she was always more similar to trainer with most of her matches being won by fainting opposing pokemon.

So seeing May trying to acquire new knowledge and skills which would bring her edge in future contests and increase chances of becoming top coordinator , best world has ever seen.

Pushing likes of Venusaur, Blaziken, potentially Blastoise if Wartortle evolved to supreme, higher level of agility and strength would make sense and be good way to promote such mega forms through well liked and popular character.

Gary- he posess every needed condition to lesrn how to use mega evolution and invoke primordial strength of pokemon on surface reaching beyond their physical limits. His massive experience, skills and talent from his adventures as trainer being respectable force to deal with. Mixed with new cognitions and better understanding of pokemon qualities ever since he became researcher gives him necessary attainment and credibility to mega evolve his own pokenmon.

And there is several available candidates out there. From Blastoise and Houndoom, to likes of Alakazam, Scizor or even Pinsir.I would be fine with any of them getting mega evolution.

Making him better understand secrets behind mega and key stones, research on relationship and strength of bond which needs to be very, very high to make them mega evolve.etc. Tying with his career of pokemon researcher.

p.s, On side note:
Mega evolution seem like one of really really great ways to bring many older, liked by many important characters from pokemon anime back to life and push them in new, exciting and fresh directions. Hopefully this wont go down the infamous road of what World tournament adaptation in anime ended up being.

If Ash uses Mega Charizard and Gary uses Mega Blastoise, the two could have an awesome rematch.
 
Ash should get a new Pokemon to focus on Mega Evolution. They save previous gen Pokemon for the championships, which don't have much time to develop a Mega Evolution storyline. Since Ash needs a Pokemon to be good against Fairy types, I think the best example is Mawile. It gives two new types for him, doesn't require some more evolution like Aron and is, in my opinion, the best example of why Mega Evolution and abilities work so well
 
6th Gen pokemon conspicuously lack Mega evolutions currently, but, as Kalos should be the region where 6th gen pokemon are most abundant and as Sycamore suggests that Kalos is where Mega evolution has a special history we should expect Kalos and (the few) 6th gen pokemon to have at least a few Mega evolving pokemon in their number. Now it's not odd that the anime should lag behind the games in this regard: Ash can't just sweep gyms, so if it were shown that he could Mega evolve Charizard or some other powerhouse pokemon of his early on it might not be believable that he should have trouble at any gym. So Ash has to be a latecomer to Mega evolution in the XY series as far as actually being able to use it is concerned.

It's also not odd that no 6th gen pokemon debuted without a Mega evolution as they are various reasons to means test pokemon before giving them a Mega form (especially if Mega evolution forms are created subsequent to factors like popularity or low or high competitiveness), but other 6th gen pokemon could get a new form same as Diancie in new 6th gen games.

It's very possible that 6th gen pokemon will get Mega evolutions in new games; if so, the anime would likely catch up to the fact. The only question remaining if that question is answered affirmatively is "In time?" The Kalos starters and Goodra would be the likeliest to get a Mega evolution: since we know that he does get a Goodra, I'll be bold and speculate that Ash will use a Mega Goodra. Maybe he could utilize a Mega Frogadier, and, as well, maybe he could utilize both, as Ash could maybe utilize multiple potentially Mega evolving pokemon on the same team.
