So The Departed just won Best Picture, and Martin Scorcese won for the very first time in a long career.

Thoughts? I was cheering for Little Miss Sunshine, since apparently a comedy hasn't won Best Picture in 30 years.

I haven't seen any of the nominated films. I heard 'Dreamgirls' was excellent, though, and Scorsese is long overdue. He should have won for either 'Raging Bull' or 'GoodFellas', IMO.

What the hell, there was a million dollar curtain. wtf are they gonig to do with it?

I was surprised that Ennio Moriccone had never won an Oscar. Wager they'll give noted dark horse Danny Elfman a lifetime achievement award in 30 years?

mm... I really didn't like the Departed. It seemed horribly generic and predictible, also I know Martin Scorcese could have done significantly better.

I also can't believe Happy Feet won, that move just seemed latently racist to me and the patronizing of penguins.

The Departed was predictable? Granted, Taxi Driver was better, but it's not even like Deniro won an Oscar for that. Now Crash was grabage of a movie.
