What, no Oscars topic?

UFC Best of 2005 and Madden 2006 > oscars ;_;

So Crash won best picture, huh? I could of sworn Brokeback Mountain would win.

The noir tribute is very fun if you say the words that pop on screen.

Horror!
Suspense!
Violence!

:P

The only things worth watching the Oscars for were Jon Stewart, Steve Colbert's lobbying ads, Ben Stiller's green screen bit, and Will Ferrel and Steve Carrell's make-up thing. Everything else was just obnoxious industry self-back patting.

So much potential wasted with John Stewart. T_T

LA Times seems to think he did okay. Not Billy Crystal or Bob Hope level of performance, but certainly not a Chris Rock or David Letterman grade.

And I agree with them. A lot of the Los Angeles buzz going on within the Sunset community was concerned that John Stewart, an outsider of Hollywood, would come in and start making cringe-worthy jabs at the people he's hosting. As a result, a lot of potential was wasted at the awards. Because Stewart can't ruin the oh-so delicate personalities of the people in the room, his biting political humor he's so good at was only visible in those awesome PAC TV spots he created with Stephen Colbert.

It was a luke-warm awards show overall. Stewart couldn't have saved that montage-happy production, especially with that stupid statute of limitations put on him.

I didn't watch it. But did anyone else besides me not understand Brokeback Mountain?

What everybody wants to know: What the hell is Crash and who did they have to bribe to steal that award from several more deserving pictures.

Crash was an AMAZING Film and I'm glad it won best picture, but "It's hard out here for a pimp" winning best song was hilarious. Also I believe the Jake Gylenhaall deserved best supporting actor.

Chaos: How could you not understand Brokeback Mountain. I'm tired of hearing it called "the gay cowboy movie" It was much more than that.

I'm glad George Clooney won for Best Supporting Actor. I was hoping for his screenplay to win, though. The only Oscar-nominated film I saw last year was March of the Penguins.

Was anyone else besides me surprised at the snub of Steven Spielberg's film Munich? I figured it would get a few more nominations.

I didn't understand what was going on or why anyone said or did anything. Like why did the guy punch the other guy randomly for like no reason? Why did the wife just not say anything and let her husband cheat on her? Why was his requirement for having sex with her that they not use protection? I mean what being gay makes you not want to use protection with women? How did everyone in the movie seem to have this major gaydar where they could tell who was gay within like 2 seconds? Like that scene in the bar, was that trying to imply that he knew he was gay? How would he know? The scene in the house with the TV, was that trying to imply that the father in law knew he was gay? Or was there some point to that scene that I didn't get? Did the mother know he was gay? Why would she tell him to go up to his room and act like it was all normal that he took his shirt? And how did the last scene have anything to do with anything? What was the point of that?

I need to watch The Brokeback Montain it seem to be a great film.
