And "Where did you go to school"? Seriously, everyone asks that.

The worst I've heard is; "Could I borrow your perfume? I forgot to put deodourant on".
That, and talking about your kids (or pets/exes).
 
Mentioning your ex in anyway is a no-no. It just makes you look like a jerk...not to mention that it creates an awkward atmosphere.
