What part of the story do you want expanded/retooled?

One thing remakes allow is a better retelling of the stories, and a major thing that RS failed at was this. I'm not talking much about the evil team, as much as I am talking about the dual rival thing going on. BW GF managed to handle it decently, and I always wanted RSEmakes to see how they can expand on Wally and May/Brendan.
Maybe make the PC rival a contest wiz, trying to make it in the battle world? And then there's stuff like Scott, the BF, and the mossdeep space station. Thoughts?

I said this on another thread, but I want them to further explain Team Magma/Aqua's ambitions, as in, WHY they are doing what they want to do.
Also, I want both May and Brendan to be a lot more involved in the story.

Not really a story element, but I would love for them to do an event for Jirachi or Deoxys where you get you ride on the rocket ship to some other planet and face them, like all the rumours that used to go around, haha.
But I definitely agree the rival's stories could be improved, especially since rivals have become so prominent in recent generations.

While X and Y plot had a bunch of problems at least it was explained why Lysandre wanted to do what he was trying to do, i never understood why Archie/Maxie wanted to expand the land/seas, they could talk about their backstories, like it would awesome if Archie and Maxie were actualy friends before but had a fallout, probably about wich was better, a world with only land and or a world with only water and then they created Team Magma and Aqua and started fighting each other.

i hope theu use the emerald story over the ruby and sapphire story assuming they just re do the old one the fight between 2 of them was pretty cool nice to see in 3ds graphics

I think Ruby/Sapphire had a great template, but the actors were quite under-utilized. For the most part, I think they only need to give the rivals and villains much more screentime and development. Also, preferably, they follow the Emerald storyline or a twist on it as opposed to the Ruby/Sapphire mold.

Most of all I hope they can give Archie and Maxie more character depth akin to every Team leader after them, and that Wally gets a lot of much-needed screentime.

The main reason RS wasn't high on my favorites list was because of its storyline, so I really hope they take this opportunity to fix that. Hoenn is such a great region with so many great Pokemon, I hate that it got sullied by the shitty story.

-I want more backstory on Archie and Maxie. In particular, I want to know why their goals are so dumb a 14 year old can realize their impracticality. Or better yet, shift those goals entirely.

-Maybe, like in Emerald, focus more on the Jets vs Sharks war they seem to have going on instead of their stupid goals. And make no mistake, those goals were stupid.

-I'd like the Rayquaza thing from Emerald to be worked in somehow, but I don't expect it to.

-Steven > Wallace. Juan can cease to exist as far as I'm concerned.

-Wally needs much, much, much more screentime if they want me to take him seriously as a rival. Also, it'd be cool if his final team could incorporate the last Starter somehow (as in, the Starter that neither you nor your rival chose.)

-Brendan/May need to fully evolve their Starters. And not quit halfway through the story. And show up during the climax and do something. Maybe they can show up at Ever Grande and give you advice before you take on the E4. Idk, give them something to do.

-Seriously, Archie and Maxie just need to go away.

Yes, it would stray far from the original story, but think about all the opportunities...

Firstly, you would definitely battle that person more....

Second, they (Wally or May/Brendan) could try to explain the motives of the Team to the player, and that will explain Team Magma/Aqua's ambition. They could possibly even explain Archie/Maxie's backstory.

Third, there is a possibility for plot twists. Like, maybe, the whole time, your rival was undercover and was just PRETENDING to be part of the Team. And then, when it seems like you can't defeat the team, they come and help you.

Fourth, character development. And it could tell us more about May/Brendan or Wally's backstory.

And finally, the last opportunity, is (if the rival isn't undercover), the redemption story. I think it's obvious that if your rival DID actually become evil, then at the end, they'd come back to the good side. And there could be a post-E4 story involving that.

So yeah, I think it would be a cool idea if they made May/Brendan or Wally join Team Magma/Aqua. (Another idea: One of them joins Magma, and the other joins Aqua.) But I doubt it will happen...

As cool as this idea is (and it is actually really cool,) I don't think it's likely to happen. When it comes to story, the remakes have never strayed far from the originals, even when they should *cough*FireRed/LeafGreen*cough*

Also, we've done the douchey rival redemption story already with Silver. Not quite the same as you're suggesting, but close enough, I think.

What do you think will change in the plot?

Here are some ideas:
Kyogre vs Groudon will return from Emerald, after they have been calmed Kyogre/Groudon will be found at the place they were in in RS.
You only go to the Magma base from Emerald in Ruby and the Aqua base from Sapphire and Emerald in Sapphire, after beating the game you get access to the previously inaccessible base which will have different items from the other version and maybe even a second Master Ball.
Looker might be in it in some way.
Extra region.

Also, a little off topic. I think the PSS could have a ORAS only filter so you can choose to only play with other people with Hoenn Pokemon.

- Give more importance to the Team Magma and Aqua's admins. I want they to feel important like the Commanders of Team Galactic
- Give more importance to the Gym Leaders, they should leave the Gyms and participate in the plot, like the BW leaders
- Make of Wally an actual rival, not some random dude you help to catch a Ralts and beat in the Victory Road later in the game
