For the exact area I live in things feel a bit restricted. Just a bit further closer to the city centre it's much different.

Like I said in the Eggs in GO thread,
Zubat, Sudowoodo, and Chikorita seem to be extremely common where I live. I even found (and caught) a wild Meganium.
Other than that, Bellsprout and both Nidorans are slightly common, and electric types that aren't Pikachu are also rather difficult to come by

Speaking of Chikorita, I actually got Meganium today. Somehow that old seaside area I was playing in for months now has a really good share of them even though you'd barely find any a few months ago. And it doesn't appear to be a nest, not sure what happened.

Around when GO first released I found 7 Bulbasaurs in a single hour around our town's high school.

Sometimes rarities will switch around for me too. Drowzee used to be allll over the place when the game first started. Now, I hardly see them at all!
Drowzee was a bit too common in some areas before the Halloween event, I remember people saying London was full of them.
Then with the Halloween event it was extremely common everywhere, but after that it fell into obscurity for all areas.
Around when GO first released I found 7 Bulbasaurs in a single hour around our town's high school.
That must have been a nest. If you ever get the chance, go around that area once every 15 days to figure out which species is nesting at the time, and if it's something you like just camp the area until you get as many of it as you wish.

It's thanks to nests that I got a nice Machamp. That was a godsend before rare candies were put into the game
Lucky you. Never got a chance at nests for species like Machop, Geodude or Abra, that would be useful. Although they're common enough in the area just a bit further from here so I did get enough to evolve one all the way soon... but no good IVs.

Very Common:
Geodude, Snubbul, Machop, Mankey, Ekans, Growlithe.

Common:
Houndour, Zubat, Hoothoot, Sentret, Natu, Slugma.

These are the ones which come to mind now. Will update the list later. Cyndaquil is the most common starter for me.

I'm really jealous that Geodude and Machop are common where you are. At least Geodude has that 1k buddy candy

Also, I'm also very jealous since Marill are common where you live (I haven't even seen one, even at a gym).
Getting a powerful golem was easy for me since I managed to get a pinap berry boost on a Low-CP Golem.

Also, COULD SOMEONE KILL ALL THE SNUBBUL FOR ME? They're the worst trolls and are everywhere (as opposed to Pidgey/Ratatta. I barely managed to get their fully evolved forms (Pidgeot was a random encounter)). When I finally tried to capture one in hope of getting a better Granbull, one escaped all my Pokeballs and Berries. I finally captured it with razz Berry+great ball+excellent throw and named it "TROLL".

Aside form common Pokemon, Teddiursa, Eevee and Bellsprout appear to be rather common around where i live. I've even seen a couple of Vaporeon in the wild before, and even a Victreebel in sightings.

At times like this I imagine how hard it might be for you all to get good Golem or Machamp; because it's hard enough here too, 125 Candies for a full evolution and restricted viable moveset options...

Snubbull are very common here too, but when I figured how decent (not great but OK) CP Granbull can end up having I stopped minding them being everywhere. I got a 1900ish Granbull "for free" the other day, just catching whatever Snubbull I could for the XP/Stardust and evolving the highest CP one whenever I'd get enough Candy. I also have 2 high IV Granbull with OKish CP, and since there aren't many better widely available Fairy-types (Wigglytuff/Clefable are hard to get) I'm cool with them.

Eevee as a common would be awesome :D 4 out of its 5 evolutions (poor Umbreon -_-) are very viable. I've seen 1 Flareon in the wild ever, as for fully-evolved sightings those are quite rare everywhere so I'm not sure what the actual rarity of each of them would be for my region. In my immediate vicinity I've never seen any Stage 2, but in further areas there have been Typhlosion, Charizard, Meganium and Golem.

I've been thinking about how the spawns are going to change when gen3 gets released. I'm worried there will be too many wild Pokemon in the game at once, and it will be tough to find the stuff that's not super common. Guess we'll have to see

But it's nice seeing diversity when a new generation gets released. I remember how happy was I to see something other than Geodude when Johto got released.
I know right, it was great having so many new Pokemon around and I'm sure I'll feel the same way when Hoenn hits... but by now I feel like even with the Johto Pokemon there's just more of the same stuff, hopefully I won't end up getting bored of Hoenn too a few months after it's in.
Yeah, I think the distribution now is pretty nice. Although the radar still gets clogged with 3 sightings of Pidgey all the time :(
That's what happens when you live in a generic area, I know :( They really need to reduce spawns of some species that are this common.
