I've noticed that some Pokémon I like have certain aspects of them that resonate with me, and I was wondering if that has happened to anyone else?

Specifically, Ogerpon, Mimikyu, and the Hatenna evolution line together represent my life experience as an autistic person; both Ogerpon and Mimikyu have to mask, or hide their true selves, to fit into society like I have, and all members of the Hatenna evolution line get overstimulated easily and prefer quite spaces like I do.

Oh, this is fun!

Spoink: I’m a bit of a workaholic, and have RLS. I simply do not know how to stop moving. It’s no fun, but it keeps me going (×_×;)

Swadloon: I get cold far too easily and tend to bundle up in layers. Plus I’m a florist by trade, so I really should mention some Grass-type here.

Latias!! Especially her movie incarnation from Pokémon Heroes! I also feel the need to become invisible sometimes. And other times, I need to make sure I’m a cute, mysterious girl, haha. I wish I was always soaring about on the surface of the water, hanging around old buildings, and diving through ancient waterways and canals. The feeling of joyful freedom, strong association with water, and sensitive presentation have always endeared her to me and whenever I see her I’m like. Yeah. Yeah. Gender. Vibes. :]

Mew filled this same role for me until Pokémon Heroes came along and Latias sort of just became more Gender for me. I think it’s because she’s a dragon, haha.

Xurkitree also feels relatable to me. Idk why! I just feel very familiar with them every time I see them.

Hmmm. An ex of mine told me that I reminded them of Morgrem (positive lol) and I think I’ve internalized that to some degree as well.

Yeah. Yeah. Gender. Vibes. :]
This just made me realize that none of the genderless Pokemon do this for me. Even if they should lol

If there's any mon that gives me gender envy... honestly, it's gotta be Simipour
Because my gender is just fun, silly vibes with nice hair and some flowy clothes. And spoilsports really just don't get it - which is honestly the Elemental Monkies to a T.

I wanted to talk about this in the OP but I decided to save it as a separate post. There's actually more to why I consider Hatenna relatable, and it's all thanks to Pokémon Horizons.
I haven't watched the series in a hot minute T_T but I did see the episode where Liko catches her Hatenna. I was very touched when I saw how she took the time to empathize with that Pokémon, and I wished there was someone out there that who understood my struggles like she did! A while after that I discovered my current friend group, and I'm happy to say that that wish has been granted. :bulbaLove:
