I'm curious to know what Pokemon you guys rely on in your team the most. It doesn't have to be one that has the best moveset or natures, just a Pokemon that you always trust to be on your side in battles. Also, Do you follow moveset/nature suggestions from Pokemon sites? Personally, I feel like when you get a Pokemon (especially a rare) you should just make whatever their nature is work for you. Think about it, when Ash was given Pikachu he didn't know what nature it was because it didn't matter as long as he had a Pikachu. Now I know that competitive battlers have to be sure they have the ultimate strategy, so natures and movesets mean everything. I just feel like when I tried to follow suggested natures and movesets the fun of the game went out the window and I ended up having a headache. :bheart:

The Pokemon I rely on the most has to be:

Pokemon Fire Red: "Mankey/Primeape"

Pokemon Emerald: "Machop/Machoke/Machamp"

*Note: I'm not really a fan of Fighting types but they seem to have helped alot.

In my Emerald game it would have to be Gyarados or Blaziken.

I don't give a crap about natures or EVs. I want to have fun without worrying about a load of technical stuff.

That said, I mainly rely on my Dragonite and Lapras in LeafGreen, and maybe Tyranitar too. In Emerald, the three I use the most are Blaziken, Flygon, and Lanturn.

I think even competitive battlers use most of their original team to beat the game and not focus on that sort of stuff, then when the game is done and all they have more time to plot it all out.

I remember relying on my Magnemite in R/S. It was Metal, what can I say? :P
And Espeon helped a lot in Colo, it was by far my strongest attacker.

I rely heavily on Vaporeon in XD. And I usually keep my starter as my strongest because I think it should be, but this playthrough, I scrapped my Blaziken for Camerupt. It's the first time I've not used my starter on my Frontier team. That said, I usually rely on Gardevoir, Camerupt and Milotic, my three biggest special STABbers.

Well in the games that let you catch an Abra early on like in fr/lg/and r/s/e I usually rely on it mostly for the rest of the game. Psychic attack from a Kadabra or Alakazam hurts... and its even better when you get calm mind. My starter is usually the foundation of my team though of course.

Oh god, I'm working my way through FireRed, and Kadabra is definitely my strongest.

Hm... I usually has all of my pokemon being relied on equally... however in diamond for most of the game I relied on Flowzel and Lucario. I'll probably try not to do that in the english one though.. it feels unbalanced even though the levels are about the same

I forgot, the first time I played Pokemon Blue I relied heavily on sandslash and venusaur

Well, in LG I mostly rely on my Magneton and occasionally my Mewtwo. But usually I battle with Magneton seeing as it's lv. 88 or something and has a very polished moveset.

In Emerald, I usually fall back on my Pelipper (which is strange because when I first got Ruby back in '03, I totally hated the Wingull line) and my Blaziken or Flygon. However, my Aipom is getting pretty strong and I'm using that often.

In D/P who knows . . ? I'll probably use my Turtwig a lot and hopefully get a nice Buizel and a Glameow. And I'll keep it Buizel and Glameow, hahaha I think those pokés are sweeeet.

Scyther gets over-used in my crystal version, (Yah, I still play it, I've been getting 2nd generation withdrawl lately,) get him going with a focus energy and fury cutter and you don't want to be my opponent.

Blaziken is by far another overused Pokemon in Saphire. In Ruby, it would be Nuzleaf (I'm raising it to 49 for extrasensory) and in Emerald, I got both.

In first pokemon game I got, which was Pokemon Silver Version, I relied on my Kadabra. I leveled it up so much because I didn't know how to evolve it.

In Emerald it was Swellow, Manectric, or my Crawdaunt, but my Sceptile was always there in a pinch. Now that the Safari Zone extra area opened and I was finally able to trade Kadabra, my Heracross and Alakazam are up there too.

Pidgeot in my Leaf Green, Altaria in Sapphire. I use both for transportation; Pidgeot is very strong, and Altaria can grind anyone and anything into the dirt. You can never go wrong with a decent bird!

My Jolteon. ^^ *lifts her paw up proudly, like a coach and their best team player*

I like to keep all my Pokemon's level's equal though, but out of 5 of them (at the time I don't have a 6th teammate, because D/P are getting so close I just don't feel like spending time training one I'm just not going to use), she (Jolteon) has the greatest Speed and Special Attack, both being over 200. All 5 were fully EV trained, but no other Pokemon has 200 in any stat, except Snorlax and his HP.

Snorlax in FireRed, Ludicolo in Sapphire, Quagsire in colosseum.

In FireRed the Mr.Mime I got from the in-game trade leveled up like crazy in Silph co. he then became one of my major pokemon and is currently my highest in the Gen III at 61. (I just got back into the pokemon games again about a month ago tho-_-')

In Sapphire I always relied on my sableye to pull me out of a fix.

I remember back in gold I had a lvl 70-something Furret that I loved and still love. I'm trying to raise a furret in FireRed.

While I'm thinking of it, should this thread be moved to the video game forum? I'm not entirly sure.

Hmm. I'd have to say it's probably a combination of both Lugia and Latias, which I use together often in double battles. As for non-legendaries, well, I certainly use my Nidoqueen a lot in the Battle Frontier, and the same goes for my Typhlosion. Ignis is probably a lot more for my preference of his type and species than Nidi is, though both of them are honestly very good battlers.

In my emerald version I rely heavily on my Skitty. Using attract and sing, I can basically stop the opponent from attacking while I slowly tackle them until I win.

I Colosseum, it's my Meganium for sure. He never faints. Same for my Swampert in Emerald and Swalot in XD. In LeafGreen, I used my Lapras and Raichu a lot. My Lapras can take damage well, confuse, and paralyze with Body Slam (it always does for some reason). My Raichu just pummels everything.

My Charizard and 2 Swampert on Emerald. I've always got them with me, and I can't remember the last time any of 'em fainted. They're all at level 80+ right now.
