For intense I think this would be good for Colorado-

Colorado
State Bird:Swellow
State Mammal:Stantler
State Insect:pineco
State Fish:Mudkip
State Reptile:Treecko

(For Fish it can be any water poke'mon)

Let me hear your thoughts am sure they will be great!

Re: What Poke'mon do you think would be state mascots for a state?

California:
State bird: Starly/Mamepato
State fish: unsure
State insect: Beautifly
State mammal: Ursaring
State reptile: Torkoal

Florida
State Bird: Wargle
State Mammal: Arcanine
State Insect: Spinarak
State Fish: Politoed
State Reptile: Charmander

This is a fun post lol. lets see, for Arkansas:
State Bird: Sadly, Murkrow. Possibly Taillow though.
State Mammal: Stantler
State Insect: Yanma
State Fish: Feebas!
State Reptile: Tsutaja or Ekans :/ Around my house it would be Politoed which makes me very happy lol

For us up here in Canada, we use provincial everything. But for Ontario, we might have:

Provincial bird: Fearow
Provincial mammal: n/a, but I'd elect Leafeon.

Provincial fish (if that even exists): Clamperl
Provincial insect: Vibrava
Provincial reptile: Kecleon

If you desperately want a US State, I'll do them for New York.

State bird: Noctowl
State mammal: Ursaring

State fish: Magikarp :D
State insect: Scyther
State reptile: Charmander

For Texas, the state fish would have to be Huntail, for its huge, loosely open mouth.

I'll just follow suit with British Columbia (Canada again!)

Provincial bird: Noctowl
Provincial mammal: Ursaring (Yeah!)
Provincial fish: Kingler (Not really a fis, but it's the closest)
Provincial insect: Beautifly
Provincial reptile: Ekans

And, the Provincial plant! Shiftry!

Wisconsin
State Bird: Taillow (Most similar to robin)
State Mammal: Miltank (Narrowly over Stantler)
State Insect: Beautifly (Couldn't think of anything else)
State Fish: Carvahna (Most similar to muskie)
State Reptile: Politoed (Lots of frogs here)

Missouri

state bird: Taillow
state fish: Barboach
state insect: Beedrill
state mammal: unsure. I voted Pachirisu
state reptile: Seviper or Poliwhirl (actually, latter is an amphibian)

Oklahoma

state bird: Fearow. Looks closest to turkey vulture
state fish: Whiscash. Nothing close enough to gar
state insect: Shedinja since I'm finding the husks all over my house.
state mammal: Tauros for buffalo.
state reptile: Seviper

Indiana

State Bird: Spearow
State Mammal: Stantler
State Insect: Mothim
State Fish: Magicarp
State Reptile: Tsutarja (I got nothing...)

Hey! What about state plant?

State Plant: Roserade

Utah
State Bird: Pelipper
State Mammal: ??? (Probably Tauros)
State Insect: Combee
State Fish: ???
State Reptile: Charmander
State Plant: ???

Georgia
State Bird: Spearow/Swellow
State Mammal: ???
State Insect: Beautifly
State Fish: Wishcash
State Reptile: Treecko
State Plant: Bellsprout

Massachusetts

(Source for the real stuff)

State Bird: Chickadee --> Pidgey

Chickadees are tiny, and Pidgey is known as the Tiny Bird pokemon, so it seemed like a good fit.

State Horse: Morgan Horse --> Rapidash

Choices kind of limited here, since Ponyta and Rapidash are the only horse pokemon (well, besides Arceus). Morgan Horses are too large to be ponies, so I went with the fully-grown Rapidash.

State Marine Mammal: Right Whale --> Wailord

Whales. Whale pokemon. A match made in heaven.

State Dog: Boston Terrier --> Growlithe

Like with the chickadee, terriers are pretty small, so a small dog pokemon seemed fitting. Growlithe is known to be a domesticated pokemon (see: James' Growly) so it makes sense to equate them with a domesticated dog.

State Cat: Tabby Cat --> Glameow

Tabby cats are often domesticated, and Glameow is based off house cats more so than Meowth, Persian, or Purugly.

State Reptile: Garter Snake --> Ekans

Garter snakes are generally boring/unthreatening. Hence, I picked the tamest snake pokemon, as opposed to the ones based off cobras or vipers.

State Insect: Ladybug --> Ledyba

Another straightforward one.

State Fish: Cod --> Feebas

Toss-up between Magicarp, Feebas, Remoraid... any of the fish pokes, really. None of them are based off cod, but bass seems to be the closest out of carp, bass, and remora, so I went with Feebas.

I'll do this for my county.

Kent
Bird: Starly or Pidgey.
Mammal: Glameow (just for being a housecat.)
Insect: Combee
Fish: Erm, Magikarp? There really needs to be a cod Pokémon...
Reptile: Tsutarja? Just a common grass snake really.
Special: Roserade. "Garden of England" and that crap.

Pennsylvania

Bird: shiny Starly (close to ruffed grouse)

Fish: Barboach (close to trout)

Mammal: SENTRET! MEEEH IT'S MINE!

Reptile: Arbok (close[st] to copperhead snake)

Insect: Nincada/Ninjask (we get craploads of cicadas eeeevery summer)

Florida:

Bird: Wingull (this is coincidental)

Fish: Clampearl

Mammal: Persian

Reptile: That new crocadile pokemon from black and white.

Insect: Yamna.

corDaemon already covered Pennsylvania, but the official mascot of Philadelphia:

Bronzong, of course.

Though I'm a Brit, I'll help out with my adopted state, Utah:

State Bird: Wingull
State Fish: Remoraid
State Insect: Combee
State Mammal: Stantler
State Reptile: (Utah has no state reptile, apparently. However...)

State Fossil: Skull Fossil

I guess I'll do NC:

State Mammal: Pachirisu
State Dog: Houndour
State Bird: Pidgeotto (closest thing to a cardinal ever)
State Insect: Combee
State Fish: Feebas
State Reptile: Turtwig
State Berry: Rawst and Belue
State Beverage: MooMoo Milk
State Carnivorous Plant (lolwut?): Carnivine

I live in West Virginia so I'm allowed to make fun of it.

The West Virginia Pokemon Mascot is obviously Probopass. Man I hate that Pokemon (and Nosepass too)! What a ugly, stupid design. But look at it; it is a great respresentation of WV. It is a giant rock; WV is the Mountain State. That big sooty mustache: it represents the coal industry.

Other mascots:
State Animal: Ursaring
State Bird: N/A until they make a badass Cardinal PKMN
State Insect: Combee
Mountain State: Geodude
Chemical Valley: Weezing and Muk
Mining Industry: Sableye
Note: West Virginia is actually very beautiful in some parts (where there are no people).

One final insult to West Virginia: Munchlax and Snorlax as a mascot for all of the obese children and adults in this state. EDIT: I take this back. I looked it up and Mississippi is number one for both. WV is fourth for adult obesity and 10th for children.
