What Pokemon should be on the box covers for B/W??

I did a search and don't believe there's a thread about this yet. This topic has been discussed in a couple other threads but hopefully the mods won't mind that I make a thread dedicated only to this discussion. I also wanted to create a poll to find out what people think.

So which Pokemon would you like to see on the box covers. Should we continue with legendary Pokemon like we did with the last 3 gens or should we go back to final starter evolutions like the 1st gen since we're going back to colors again? Or should we have a Pokemon that are neither legendary or starters on the covers? Maybe give some random non legendary/starters a chance to shine.

Please vote and post why you chose your choice.

Update: It seems many of you are choosing legendaries over the starters or other Pokemon because of the colors of the game.

Let's just say we didn't know what the colors or versions of the games will be. Which one would you like to see on the covers? Maybe for marketing reasons? For sake of tradition? Your own preference.

I voted Legendary, because we will probably will have a Black-Colored Uber and a White-Colored Uber.

Starters? There are three starters, and two games, which one should be left out? And, I don't think it would look good seeing a big 'red' boar on the cover of Pokemon Black or White. It don't see it happening.

Other Pokemon? What about Zoroark and his counter-part (if he has one)? That could happen, but if Zoroark had a counter-part, it would've been revealed until now.

Absol should totally be on the covers of both black and white, seeing as it is a Pokémon that is both black and white.

I said legendary because unless the two of the final evolutions are black and white, they wouldn't go along with the names. If they do use starters, just going by the colors, I think they will use pokabu and mijumaru.

they should use random pokémon that aren't legendary. I wont post a candidate as whoever they do choose [legendary, starter, randomer] will be from the new dex which we don't know yet. Zoroark would be good for the black cover but the mightyena evo would be cool too. No idea about white's cover.

Failing that I'd like starters with awesome poses & backgrounds like with RBY but not legends, pur-lease! We have them shoved down our throat enough.

As we've gone back to colours, I'd like if we went back to the colour generation. Pokémon Black should have Tsutaja's final evolution as the version mascot, whereas Pokémon White should have Mijumaru.

Why those two, especially when I love Pokabu? Because Red and Blue are opposing colours (and with Red/Blue and Ruby/Sapphire I'm getting bored of that pair) and Green and Blue don't oppose each other like they would with Red, they're colours in harmony, which would fit the ying-yang perception of the Black and White naming.

It could be Pokabu and Mijumaru's final forms though, as Pokabu has quite a lot of black on it, and Mijumaru has white. Although, it'll probably just be legendaries.

While there have already been three generations of legendary box art, I'm still supporting a legendary mascot. Starters don't fit the B/W theme at all, no matter which way you look at it. The only reason R/B/Y had starter mascots is because that game did not follow a storyline requiring you to meet a legendary Pokemon at its climax; starters were the best candidates at the time.

Plus, seeing the legendary off the bat is good for marketing. You see something AMAZING on the cover of a very shiny looking DS game, and the urge to buy it rises.

With names like Black & White, it can't be anything else but Legendary Pokemon.

But that's jumping the a gun a little. It'll be whatever Pokemon they designate as the main plot Pokemon. Those just tend to end up as legendaries I'm afraid.

Although back in the Gen I days, it was kinda cool to be surprised by the appearance of all the legendaries (assuming you hadn't already seen them on the Internet beforehand... which, back then, was probably the case with most players).

Mijumaru's final evo will be White's mascot, it has the white colour sceme and cute face commonly associated with white.

Pokabu's final evo will be Black's mascot, being part dark and featuring a very dark colour sceme helps creating the 'dark vibe' the name black gives many people around the globe.

Tsutaja's final evo will be the third version's mascot, for whatever reason, probably associated with it's colour.

But legends seem more likely, but the starters need more love too, because nodody seems to like the cutest of the three; Mijumaru.

I voted "starters" because I'd like to see them again, and that would almost surely require a third version :3

But! I would also like to see a "cute-legendary" duo for the boxes. A white one with black markings for black and a black one with white markings for white. It would be a really cool contrast/irony.

...and I said "cute-legendary" because their designs generally look a lot less complex than the "ubers" and I would like to see a nice, simple box art.

On that note, featuring the legendary trio would work with a third version, and that really hasn't been done before.

(I know some people count Dialga/Palkia/Giratina as a trio, but I see it more like Dialga/Palkia due Arceus/Giratina duo. Each to his own, however.)

the fact is that the colors of the games have always corresponded with the colors of the pokemon on them. And while Pignite and Wotter have black and white on them, they're dominant colors are orange and blue. So we're most likely to see legends.

I just thought... how about the same pokemon, but in a white silhouette for black and a black one for white? That would actually make it better in that it wouldn't reveal how is that pokemon.
The actual colors of it could be black and white, but that's irrelevant.
If there's a third version, its cover would be the counterpart of that pokemon.
