So Game Freak have removed a lot of cool features over the years, many for no apparent reason at all, what features would you like to see return?

For me there's

*VS Seeker
*Pokemon following behind you
*Apricorns and their balls
*Pokethlon
*Pokemon Contests
*Seasons
*Secret Bases
*Exp Shares old ability

Pokéathlon. That was the one "contest" I found to be entertaining.

I agree with the VS Seeker. It was an easy way to get more money for whatever post-game shenanigans you were up to, and it was a nice touch in the main story for anyone having difficulty with a gym that wanted to get a bit more EXP without grinding.

~Rebattling trainers. I think the way that R/S/E did it was best... There was no calling, and no annoying having to activate a VS. Seeker.

~Seasons. Although I suppose it was a bit awkward to have them based in a monthly fashion. I know some people may hate it, but it might be nice to see them turn on a real world clock.

~Different Pokemon appearing during day/night.

~Black Tower

~Pokemon World Tournament

~I suppose Secret Bases might be cool again, too.

~A second region or something like Sevii Islands. These are really needed for a good post-game.

And not really a feature, persay, but...

~Leaf! Quit ignoring her existence. Even though I've played since R/B/Y, when I fight the Kanto Champion, I want to fight Leaf, not Red. It's not that Red should be replaced, but there should be an option.

Definitely contests and related game mechanics. The other feature I would really want to see is walking pokémon.

  • V.S. Seeker, definitely
  • Ability to customize your Poke Balls
  • Pokemon appearing at different times of day
  • Two regions in one game! Seriously, the second gen games were fantastic

There's only two things I really care about. (The rest, I'm kinda glad they removed them because I could never really get into them and didn't care for them, finding them to be sort of unnecessary clutter, really.)

But I would also like walking Pokemon back. (Although Amie is a pretty nice replacement.) And... I'd also like the BW experience system back. Where a low-level Pokemon facing a significantly higher leveled one gets a whole load of experience from that. Makes it a LOT easier to raise up a new Pokemon. Related to that, I'd love the rustling grass with Audino to make a return. It was great for grinding new Pokemon. Now, it's kind of a hassle to catch up a new Pokemon with the rest of the team.

Dating options (Curtis/Yancy dates)

I'm being serious. The Lost Item side-quest is one of my fav ever. We interact with someone who develops feelings for us. They say nice things about us. They like hanging out with us on the Ferris Wheel. They love getting calls from us. They even trade rare pokemon with us. It was such a cute feature! Why did they have to take it away whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I wanted to date Professor Sycamore

*Vs Seeker! The best way to get money and experience, if you seek to complete the pokédex (now with the big amount of pokés) or simply train multiple teams it's this item is the best option.
*I agree with Dark Kyriaki, the lost item was kind of fun in its own way, having to travel around the region to try and get Curtis.. I remember it was kinda frustrating at first, but then I couldn't give 5 steps and don't look at the Xtranseiver for signal xD, I almost cried when he traded me a ralts *-*.. The effort was not in vain.
I wanted to date Professor Sycamore
xD
*Wild pokémon depending on time and hour.

I agree with a lot of the things that have already been said. I liked the clock/calendar features that have been in the previous games. Vs. Seeker, or at least some way to re-battle other trainers was appreciated. Walking Pokémon was pretty awesome. One minor thing that I would love to see again would be Shuckle making Berry Juice and Rare Candies again!

Two things only:

1) Pokemon walking behind you
2) Battle Frontier, and I mean the good one from Pokemon Emerald

I was kind of bummed out that the gyms in XY didn't have unique music to them like the ones in Black2 / White2.

I also really liked having the time display on the bottom DS screen.

I want the original Ruby and Sapphire pokemon contests to come back. There is a big difference between those and all of the mini-games that came after them, which was that... the original contests were actually fun. There was actual strategy involved and there wasn't any garbage like dancing.

Pokemon following me
Beserk Gene
Pokemon at different times
Missingo
Absence of natures
15 IVs
Stat exp instead of EVs
Living near the professor
Having less than 4 friends (seriously i related to my character in X better cos of things like getting broke on clothes, but my character having so many friends really alienates me)
Home Console features: Transfer Pak, Gymleader Castle, Prime Cup (gen 1 and 2 are the only generations where I've bothered training level 100s), Challenge Cup, Petit Cup, Poke Cup, Pika Cup, Mini Games, Teaching your own Pikachu Surf
Time machine
Leaf
Multiple regions

I want

- Seasons
- Pokemon following you
- Challenge mode, although make it available from the start
last but not least, POKEMON WORLD TOURNAMENT!!!

Seasons and The Underground. The Underground was so wonderful, I used to dream of excavating my own items since Gen I.
Seasons because it sounds a sort of retrocession to remove it now. It was an improvement that added a lot of immersion to the experience of playing Pokémon, just like the day/night system in Generation II (which was removed in Gen III in the same way). I hope it can come back in the future and become standard just like the day/night thing, maybe with some improvements.

I miss the original game corners (1st and 2nd gen) and I really wish they would bring back dive, it felt really cool to creep around on the ocean floor.
