Can pertain to the raws or the dub, even though I'm going to fangirl/complain about the raws mostly.

Of course Japanese voice acting > any sort of dub... But there are voices in the Pokemon anime that SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY stand out to me.

These talented voices stand clearly out to me:

Rica Matsumoto, who I think everyone would agree, is absolutely brilliant in her role as Satoshi, and is a fabulous singer to boot.

I love KAORI in her rendition of Haruka because I feel that Haruka truly developed from an insecure, unsure, inexperienced trainer into a more grown up and confident character.

I adoreadoreadore Yuuji Ueda as Takeshi and lovelovelove Kiyotaka Furushima as Shinji because they really really really bring out the personality of their characters.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yuuko Kobayashi because even though she's a woman, she makes Shigeru sound really really sexy <3

Some decidedly annoying/untalented voices:

Mama-san, Okido-hakase (which although amusing, gets annoying), and Kasumi.

Yeah.
 
This is a REALLY risky topic... but frankly, has anything been said about the Japanese seiyuus? Not that I can think of.

I love a great majority of them. Whoever does Hikari's voice is cute.
 
The voice acting really is amazing in the Japanese version.

Rica Matsumoto IS Satoshi. KAORI is wonderful as Haruka, one of the best performances in the show. Megumi Toyoguchi has been wonderful as Hikari. Shinichiro Miki is a great Kojirou. Megumi Hayashibara is amazing in anything she does, of course.

I agree with all of these.

And Shigeru's seiyuu makes him sound teasing yet smexy ^_~
 
Uh...but there's a huge announcement pertaining to no VA talk here.

So, wouldn't that include talk of "seiyuus" too? And also, VA facts are allowed, but no VA opinions, unfortunately. =(

As far as I'm concerned, I don't watch the Japanese version at all, lol.

And of course, by now, everyone here should know what I think about VAs just by looking at my second sig banner. XD

Yes.

Japanese seiyuus were brought up in one of the review threads and one of the mods/admins came and told everyone to stay on topic or something.

Besides, I don't think it would be fair if they allowed discussion of seiyuus and not talk about dub VAs....

Well, before this thread will be closed (which I expect as soon as some admin will find out :-D ) I put my two cents.
I like almost all Seiyuus, even those who many others don't, like Masato's (I don't see what peaople has against him, I find him fitting the character). Though I must admitt I watch Japanese version since half of AG, so I don't really know Seiyuus before that point. I only heard Kenji few times an Kasumi's voice I know only from few movies and Housou episodes. But I don't really found her annoying either. But that may be because I compare her to Czech Misty, who definitely was annoyin IMO (and honestly, most of her VA's roles was, excluding her Patamon in Digimon Czech dub, but that's beyond the point here). But I ,must admit there was some Japanese voices I don't like, but most of these were CotD, so I don't really care. The only one I mention here is Hajime from Riolu special, whose voice was too young to make impresion of Top Ranger (but his dub voice was too old to fit his appearence. Maybe something between these two extrems could fit ;-) ).

I agree that Rica Matsumoto IS Satoshi! Man the emotion she puts in his voice~ It was her that made me go back to being obsessed with Pokémon when I first watched Movie 8 RAW. Yup, she's a brilliant singer! <3 I want to hear all her songs.

Megumi Hayashibara~! :D My first Seiyuu love ever! Her as Musashi = awesomeness! The fiery spirit she applies to her is just...wow! She made me cry during DP074, it was just so touching!

Megumi Toyoguchi~ She's adorable as Hikari! "Daijoubu~"

Yuji Ueda IS Takeshi~ Man he does flirty dudes so well! I laugh whenever he does his bishie Takeshi voice when he flirts.

Miki Shinichirou! Man, what a guy, I love his rendition of Kojiro~ ^w^

Kiyotaka Furushima, SHINJI FTW! <3 I love how he talks in his Shinji voice~ It's just awesome~
 
The VA ban pertains to the Japanese VAs as well. It wouldn't be fair if we only banned talk of the dub VAs, y'know.
