What time format do you like? The "standard" 12-hour with AM/PM designations or the 24-hour "military" style?

I personally prefer the "military" style because my Wii, cellphone and DS all use it and it seems less confusing to me.

On a funny note, I found this joke related to the confusion between "military" and "standard time": (WARNING: SLIGHT SEXUAL REFERENCES)

A crusty old Sergeant Major found himself at a gala event hosted by a local liberal arts college. There was no shortage of extremely young, idealistic ladies in attendance, one of whom approached the Sergeant Major for conversation.

“Excuse me, Sergeant Major, but you seem to be a very serious man. Is something bothering you?”

“Negative, ma’am. Just serious by nature.”

“The young lady looked at his awards and decorations and said, “It looks like you have seen a lot of action.”

“Yes, ma’am, a lot of action.”

The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a conversation, said, “You know, you should lighten up a little. Relax and enjoy yourself.”

The Sergeant Major just stared at her in his serious manner.

Finally the young lady said, “You know, I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but when is the last time you had sex?”

“1955, ma’am.”

“Well, there you are. You really need to chill out and quit taking everything so seriously! I mean, no sex since 1955! She took his hand and led him to a private room where she proceeded to “relax” him several times.

Afterwards, panting for breath, she leaned against his bare chest and said, “Wow, you sure didn’t forget much since 1955!”

The Sergeant Major, glancing at his watch, said in his matter-of-fact voice, “I hope not, it’s only 2130 now.”

xD That joke was funny.
I prefer the 12 hour format. I didn't really use military time until I got a DS.

The joke made me laugh. :3

I much prefer the standard format. I always have to think about what time it is with the military format. Although it would be the other way around if the military format were standard. Kinda like how I prefer Fahrenheit to Celsius, but only because I live in the U.S.

I go with the 12 hour format mainly because my watch is analog. I don't have any problems with military though.

The American educational system and The Associated Press have programmed me to think in a.m./p.m. style. I've had a little working experience with military time (it was the clock in a hotel management software I used), so I'm not too bad with it.

I'm used to both time formats, so it doesn't really matter to me.

Oh, and thanks for the funny joke!

I always use the 24-hour format. And my JROTC instructor (an Air Force Chief Master Sergeant) pretty much dices us up whenever we call it "military time." It's just a clock with 24 hours instead of 12.
(And no, I'm not a soldier. >_>)

EDIT: You should add a poll to this thread so we can count. ^_^

The American educational system and The Associated Press have programmed me to think in a.m./p.m. style. I've had a little working experience with military time (I've taken French classes, and the teacher and books would sometimes use it), so I'm not as bad as I could be with it, though still not all that good.
These, with the bolded changes.

12-hour. It's not that i don't see or use 24-hour time it's just that I think 12-hour is easier.

I mean, I can't "think" in 24 hour time, so I would have to "convert" 24 hour time to 12-hour first before applying it or anything.

Meh, both are ok, but I have a tendency to mix 'em. I think once I said 1400 PM and I said like 14 o'clock PM. But I don't do it that often.

I'm still slow with Milatary time, so I like the 12 hour time format more.

I work security, so we use military style anyway. I mostly use that style myself, but I always convert it to 12 hour format for "civilians". Otherwise I get weird looks and blank stares.

I like military time better because it's cooler
I first started using military time in some of my stories when I saw the Eye of Truth statues in Zelda Oot used them. I'm pretty good with it now because my computer uses it, my ds uses it, and many other things. But I'm good with regular time though.

I'm also, thanks to being on international forums, learning celcius.
