What type of bat should the next Pokemon be?

Assuming that it would be part flying, I think a fire bat would be nice, but after Talonflame a more unique typing could also be nice to see. Still, I think a fire bat could lead to some interesting designs. Wouldn't be opposed to a rock bat either (design based off of stalactites?) since I also think it could yield interesting results.
 
There's definitely an incredible shortage of bats in these games.

I want one based on the fruit bat, cause it looks like a little fox/wolf with wings :D

Could be fire type, because of the orange colors?
 
I think an Electric-type bat that's themed around being an electricity "vampire" would be cool. I'm gonna come up with two Pokedex entries right now. I think a cool name would be Ampire. Amperes are a measure of electricity, and it also sounds like vampire.

Entry 1: Ampire is a common source of frustration in large cities. It drains electricity to feed itself. A large group of Ampire can cause power outages.
Entry 2: Ampire hides during the day. It cannot generate its own electricity, so it hunts down Electric Pokemon at night and siphons their electrical energy.

It'd be great if they gave it UU or OU-level stats.

How about something based off the ghost bat (Macroderma gigas), meaning it could be a Ghost/Flying-type. It would evolve twice, once by level and the second time by the Moon/Dusk Stone, and it would retain its Ghost/Flying-type throughout. It's abilities could be Soundproof and Aerialate, while some of the moves it could learn would be Supersonic, Boomburst, Hyper Voice, Echoed Voice, and so on. It would be a Special Sweeper. The first form could be called Spokat (spook + bat), the second stage could be Bhantom (bat + phantom), while it's final form would be called Flightmare (flight + nightmare). (Yes, I do realize the names are rather dumb, but its the best I've got right now for this idea). They would have the following stat distribution: (Spokat: 50/25/35/55/50/75) (Bhantom: 85/30/50/75/70/95) (Flightmare: 95/30/65/100/95/125). Again, this is just off the top of my head, so I may not know what the "proper" stat distribution would be (I rarely pay any attention to that until much later, and even then that's a stretch). How does this sound?
 
i'd like a ghost bat, or a dark bat.
The vampire fits ghost/poison or dark/poison

Woobat best bat, we don't need anymore

Obvs what we really need is a Swoobat Primal Mega Fusion
 
i'm glad to see this thread is still getting activity

I think we need a giant fruit bat that isn't Woobat and Swoobat, like a Flying Fox. A Spotted Bat would also be neat.
 
We don't really need more bats but how about a Ghost/Flying or Dark/Flying bat pokemon.

On the contrary we always need more bats. Ghost and Dark are definitely the next types to look into since the other bat appropriate types already have representation (Flying, Poison, Dragon).

How do we need more? We have Zubat line, Woobat line and Noibat line. That is seven bat pokemon. I think that is plenty.

Well, like if you really want some kind of reason there are a lot of pretty neat and cool bats out there in the world. Comes with the whole being the second largest order of mammals.
