Idk if there's a thread for this already but I think it's a interesting question to ask so I'm doing it anyway.

What video game do you think you're best(most skillful or most lucky lol) at?(including Pokemon!).

I'm pretty good at Pokemon, dabble in competitve etc, but everyone says I'm REALLY good at Splatoon. I kinda thought I was mid at a Splatoon, but after seeing lots of replays playing lots of matches, people have told me I'm well above average, so that's cool

Building in The Sims 4, I like to think i am quite decent at it. This game really is the dark souls of casual gaming... and I am only half joking. Getting all the colors to match when they keep making swatches that are in very close colors...but not quite? Making the spaces look lived in while also functional? Getting around all the glitches? Managing to build something actually nice without terabytes of custom content and a 10000$ worth of DLC? All of those are quite a challenge.

I'm pretty good at a few games imo.
- Tetris DS, this score's pretty crazy imo. At least I think it is haha, this took me over a day (I took many breaks though haha).

- I'm also pretty good at the Jimmy T microgame set in WarioWare DIY.

- I'm nowhere near competitive level in Smash, but something I think is pretty impressive is that I've beaten over 100 foes in Multi Man Smash.
This took me sooo many tries, like over a year, just so I could get that milestone.
I don't have a screenshot on me rn, I need to charge my Switch to get one, but yeah.

- I've beaten chapter 5 in Kirby Fighters 2 with every character. I had to no hit a ton of fights, by save scumming, for this. Not all of them, but a lot lol.

- I've no hit Jevil in Deltarune just bc I was addicted to replaying that fight, it's so fun.

I actually haven't really played a video game in a while though besides WarioWare lol

Unfortunately the game I was likely best at was multiversus. I was fairly competent and won most games with my friend who I played doubles with. But uh yeah, that’s not particularly relevant anymore.

Unfortunately for a different reason, I’m deceptively good at ea’s NHL franchise. I played a decent amount of the online gacha game hiding behind a trading card facade, and would often win against opponent with better players than me. It honestly had less to do with my actual skill and more with my playstyle being entirely different from most others, but I still was succeeding.

I’m decently good at doubles in pokemon as I’ve talked about in other threads.

I’m pretty good at super smash bros, having competed in leagues and tournaments a few times.

I used to participate in Smash tournaments. Won a few, too. I'm pretty handily the best of my friend group at Smash, even though I don't compete anymore.

I also think I'm pretty good at Mario Kart Wii. Not like, world-record-holder level, but I still know the ins and outs of the game!

I'm also a former world record holder for Sonic 3 & Knuckles's fan port. Not much competition there, but I still had to learn the routes and stuff. Replay that game all the time; it's my favorite ever, after all.

That is... such a hilarious description tbh, but based on what you said it sounds accurate.

As someone who's won multiple Tetris 99 games. What the heck even is this score XD? This is wild, that's incredible!

Oof yeah that's rough. I'm good at a lot of "dead" games too, including shut down ones.

That sounds so niche, you have my respect for that lol.

I'm somewhat confident at playing Fire Emblem games, even though I only play Normal/Casual because of my preferences, I'm good enough that I probably could get through Hard mode if I wanted to. But I don't really enjoy playing the higher difficulties with this series.

A long time ago I used to feel very good at Super Smash Bros. Brawl, maybe not competitive level, but I was able to complete every stage of Subspace on Intense difficulty.

Oh man, this reminds me of when I used to play Tetris DS in university. I used to only really play on my DS when I was taking the bus to and from campus, so for about 20 minutes a day, except weekends and varying other days, I'd play the same game of Tetris.

Day in, day out, for maybe a month or two, this one game of Tetris basically monopolised my entire DS. Any time I wanted to play a different game, I'd open it up and I'd see this ongoing game of Tetris― at level 100, 200, 500, whatever― and I'd think, "Gosh, I've gotten this far, it'd be such a shame to quit out of the game now...". So, for two months, my DS was just the portable Tetris device.

Then one morning, a 10 AM on the bus like any other, I'd finally done it: I hit level 999. Your score can still increase, but the level counter stops going up. I paused the game there and pondered, "Do I keep going? Am I going to curse myself to play Tetris DS... forever?"

After a few minutes of staring at the level counter, the bus started to pull into the bus stop. I pressed start to unpause the game, and piece by piece, I let the tetrominoes fall. With each falling piece, I could feel my shackles coming undone. And when the Game Over screen appeared, that is when I knew: this is the beginning of the rest of my life.

So anyway, I'm pretty good at Civilization V.

Hmm... I'd probably say the Everybody's Golf games? It's very silly, but a lot of my friends know that I'm a huge anime golf girlie, and... well! I'm a lot better at any of those games than I am at IRL golf, lol. (Probably because I don't have much strength and can't rely on being able to run a lot like in tennis LOL) I've been obsessively playing the new one that released last month, which I'd cautiously say might now be my favourite game ever(!), aaand though I haven't gotten a hole-in-one quite yet, I've gotten a few really fun chip-ins! This is one of my best shots, but I'm also too lazy to boot up the game and look through my replays, soooo have something I grabbed from my Tumblr↓

I also would say I'm okay enough at Super Monkey Ball (the newest one especially), and maybe Mario Kart? I say this all while maintaining that I'm not really a gamer, honestly, so my level probably doesn't match yours, etc.

Amazing post and congrats on your score!!

I'm pretty handily the best of my friend group at Smash,

You gotta 1v1 me some time, because I hold this title among my own friend group too. And if any of you nerds read this and disagree then feel free to prove me wrong!

As for what I personally think I'm most proficient in, it would probably have to be Final Fantasy 14 and, unfortunately, Destiny 2. I used to be exceptionally good at Titanfall 2 back in the day when that was a relevant game, and I was also very good in Absolver, had my own school with a decent number of people in it.

I’m pretty good at Mario Kart World, specifically battle mode!

I consider myself average at best for racing. If anyone wants to play, I’m down.

I don’t think I’m particularly great at games just generally and anything I used to play even semi-competitively with friends I’ve long since fallen out of practice of…. But I’m pretty decent at the Souls games! I know Bloodborne so well at this point there are parts I can practically play with my eyes closed, haha
