What Was The Best Battle Team Rocket Ever Had?

Apart from Unova battles, none at all since Team Rocket are barely competent in other regions.
 
I dont remember the specific episode, pretty sure it was DP, but it was a tag battle between ash/brock vs games/jessie, in a battle to reclaim brocks gym, they were given powerful pokemon for the occasion and it was a particularly epic battle from what i recall.

Wasn't that in Battle Frontier?
 
I remember this one time in the AG episode with the Ralts Max befriended. They were really holding up well against Ash and company here and appeared legitimately threatening.

Between James outright avoiding Cacnea's usual hug, Chimecho and Wobbuffet being used to heal and defend, and the Haze that Seviper unleashed for their escape once they discovered that Max scarpered with the Ralts under the cover of the battle, I got the impression that they weren't goofing around this time.

It is better than watching them go after a regular Pikachu constantly. Them being involved in the legendary plot is far better than them having battles in other regions.
 
It's a bit old, but I really enjoyed in battle park episode in Johto series where Jessie, James and Meowth were disguised as park workers battling Ash with Venuaur, Charizard and Blastoise.

TR showed some great cunningness in there, but pretty respectable fighting skills too. Ok, Jessie not so much, but James was real star with Venusaur in overpowering Ash Cyndaquil. Despite type disadvantage, that giant grass pokemon managed to come out on top thanks to James decent knowledge of pokemon abilities and boost in confidence he gotten when acting like roker. Interestingly enough whenever James receives boost in self esteem he can be very respectable force to go against in pokemon battles. Being like flaming Moltress. (pun intended).:)

Jessie granted didn't excelled as much when it comes to being familiar with pokemon strategies and moves. But her aggressiveness and dominant type of characterization resulted in equally stunning and unusual scenarios. Such as Charizard performing attacks which are anything but usual for such specie like dig. Leaving everyone puzzled, and equally frustrated. Especially Brock when his knowledge of pokemon types and what they can and cannot do was challenged by this.

Sadly enough when she started to battle more proficiently under Meowth instructions with Blastoise putting Pikachu in corner it still wasn't enough to defeat Ash. Although i have to say how i kinda think Pikachu should have lost there considering how hard it was hit by hydro pump with suddenly thunder being so strong to not just overrun Blastoise hydro cannons, but also completely fry him. Seemed for comeback a bit stretched. But than again Ash Pikachu is specific anomaly being able to defeat toughest pokemon, sometime even legendaries on good day, and in next second lose to likes of Snivy or Surskit.

Admittedly this battle JJM trio had vs Ash wasn't as spectacular and best edition in which Jessie and James were showed when having things work out in their favor. Like it was case with some Jessie contests or battles they had in more fresh series like XY. But confrontation happening at battle park did demonstrated resourcefulness, willingness to learn on mistakes and great dedication those three possess making it one of their best moments they had when being involved in fair pokemon battle for me.
 
The final battle they had against the twerps in DP was always nice. Jessie has had some cool contest battles if it helps. Lickitung VS Psyduck was cool. Very recently we had the whole team against the Rhyperior. They had some cool battles protecting Z2 as well against Team Flare. Jessie and James VS Cassidy and Butch when James becomes ''the flaming Moltres'' was also pretty cool.
 
James' Carnivine unlike pretty much all his other Pokemon.
