My first impression of Pokémon was it was the coolest thing in the world. It was a gateway to another world. My big brother introduced it to me. Even though he does not play it anymore he say's its stupid and is a joke. So shun the non-believer. lol.

My friend Andrew was really into Pokemon, and he went to the leagues and tournaments... So one day I was at Target, and I asked my mom if I could get a booster pack of Pokemon, she sayed yes I got more into Pokemon and here I am.

A ripoff Digimon of course at the time I was five put because I have basic cable kidswb was the only kids programing so I'd sometimes watch it

I also had no idea that the anime follwed the plot of the game until I first started playing them

I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I tried to watch every episode of the anime and my first day watching got the channel wrong and sat there for 30 minutes before I realized my mistake.

The games were introduced to me by my neighbor. I actually said, "Cool, the have games that are like the show." Oh, how ignorant of a first grader I was.

I loved it alot and was a huge fan when I was littler but when I got older around 11 I stopped collecting Pokemon cards and playing Pokemon games and stopped but when I got around 13-14 I became obessed with it again.

yea when i was younger i was so obsessed with the cards, i remember my first card was a holographic lapras. but i just play the games and if i get the chance watch the show

I was introduced to pokemon as soon as it came out. It was on UPN at first. I watched the first ep ever played in the US: The St. Anne ep, and I was hooked. From there, I went and got a gameboy color and Pokemon Red. Guess the rest was history...

Pokemon was great back in the day. it's pretty good now too, though, but back then it was just phenomenal. It's a game about catching little animals in another world. Who'd have thought it would become so amazing?

I was introduced to Pokemon around when the first movie came out in the US. My dad was subscribed to Time Magazine at the time, and there was a long article about the Pokemon phenomenon, complete with a cool border featuring the first 151 Pokemon along with their names. My dad let me read the article because I've been into animation since I was small and he thought I'd be interested. I really was interested, and I kept that magazine for a long time.

And then my parents bought Pokemon Red for my sister. I got it from her after three months, but that didn't make any sense in the first place. I was the one looking forward to coming across Pokemon again, not her. o_O;

Back when I was six and Pokémon was about to start to hit America for the first time, I heard hype and thought it was just a dumb fad (before it was popular to call it a fad, even). Then I started reading the little miniature Pokémon magazine that Nintendo Power came with and I decided Pokémon was really cool. Then I got Pokémon Blue for Christmas and instantly found it awesome.

Now I find it ironic that I dismissed it as a fad at six, and am a fanatic at nineteen.

In my case it thanks to a friend, he was always talking about a show that i never paid any attention but one i decided to give it a chance and well i still a fan after all these years.

My first impression of pokemon was something like "This is stupid! I'll never fall for this fad." Then I started secretly watching episodes, and finally I was collecting cards and bringing my gameboy to school just like all the cool kids. Then they stopped, and I stopped for a while, then I started again...

I was 3, My first impression was proberbly WTH is that?!!?!!?!?!?! My sister introducted me to it

My oldest memory of Pokemon is the commercial where Pikachu ran into a bus with a bunch of other Pokemon, and then the Bus driver walked out and squashed them all into Blue Version... maybe Red Version. I think that is my oldest memory... anyway. I don't remember what introduced me to it, or if I knew about it before that commercial, but I do know that I wanted the game really badly. I was 11 at the time... Which seems a lot older than most people that got into Pokemon around that time, but //shrug. I guess I have always been a younger than my age, at heart, or something. //22 in six days.
