What ways can a fox and a wolf be related?

I had no idea where to start this thread. But I guess it's considered outside the box. Anyways I'm having trouble figuring out how can I make this wolf character the uncle of this fox. Does anyone have any ideas?
 
Well other then Foxes being from another species, you could go off a forbidden love, seeing as foxes breed for life, and wolfs usually run in packs, although there has been cases of Lone wolves breeding other species it is rather rare. That is just one spin you could put to it, or you could go with a prisoner or cloning facility or a forced by humans aspect. The sky is the limit really, and I hope this little insight has helped you.
 
If you're giving the animals human qualities like speech and family, you could go the route of the wolf joining the family through marriage to one of the fox's aunts. Or the wolf could have been born into the family through a wolf father/mother and a fox mother/father, although that would be a hybrid (which I'm not sure is possible as a legitimate offspring in nature) and not a true wolf.
