I was inspired to make this thread after reading some comments online about musk sticks. For context musk sticks are a lolly/sweet found here in Australia with a unique flavour that's hard to describe (I've heard some people say it's like sickly sweet perfume and I'd agree) and they are quite polarising to say the least! Apparently they even have a place in the "Disgusting food museum" in Sweden.

I personally find them delicious and they're one of my favourite lollies ever. I could easily eat a bag full of them in one sitting XD

So what unpopular or strange foods do you guys like?

I really like mixing baked beans with macaroni and cheese. It’s delicious.

It's not weird but something many people dislike: licorice and salmiak candy.

If spinach is considered unpopular then spinach. Lentils, chickpeas and black beans and kidney beans also, but it depends on one's diet I suppose. Many of the foods I enjoy aren't very popular in my culture yet very prevelant in others. For example, I like spicy food with sambal and other spices that many can't handle well here. Also, I prefer to eat salads without any dressing and that's not the norm. In general I think salads aren't popular at all in restaurants as they're often left uneaten. Talk about a waste >_>

I like chewing on raw potato slices.

Also lots of exotic meats. I've had and enjoyed crocodile, ostrich, shark, and pheasant (I'm not sure if the last two count as exotic). I'd try any meat except for snakes, rats, and some animals that I find cute. (I didn't enjoy wild boar and cuttlefish. I've also had a fried cricket and a fried maggot but they didn't have much in terms of taste).

I think it would depend on whats considered a "weird" food which is different to different people and cultures. In general,I like vegetables even if they arent always popular. I enjoy brussels sprouts roasted and broccoli I like both roasted or stir fried.

I also enjoy seafood a lot. I like a lot of fish which Id say isnt always everyone's favorite thing.

As others have said, I love me some leafy greens - and mushrooms! <3 Also, I'm an olive and anchovy lover, with the sole exception that neither of them can go anywhere near my pizza.

... pineapple is my favourite pizza topping.

Ive been told i have a very distinguished palette, i have ever since i was a kid, I love things like mushrooms, octopus, squid, oysters, and black licorice for example. Honestly i find it a bit amusing that i can eat all that but i don't like most forms of pork and potatoes haha.

i used to be such a fussy eater than im pretty sure at one point there were only 10 or so things that i would eat. mostly things with quite bland flavours. but weirdly ive always loved marmite/vegemite despite it having a super overpowering flavour :chansey:

Like many others have mentioned in this thread, I do like rather polarizing vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. I definitely do enjoy lentils, chickpeas, black beans, hummus (some people really dislike it), various mushrooms...

No one has mentioned stinky tofu? That could be an acquired taste. Or century eggs?

I'm not sure if they're weird or unpopular, but...Vienna Sausages.
