Over the years, we’ve seen the 10 year old come up with some of the most amazing, reckless and unbelievable battle strategies that leave viewers speechless.

Which moment or technique do you think tops the rest? There are a lot of battles to think about when it comes down to it because there are a lot of things that Ash does that other trainers wouldn’t even think of doing.

  • Charizard blasting the field with flames so Blastoise couldn’t escape
  • Infernape's Underground Flare Blitz
  • Having his Pokemon break dancing to perform Counter Shield
  • Gible biting a Shadow Punch
  • Krabby using ViceGrip to stop an Exeggutor from attack

And these are just to name a few!

Most of these moves were rash indeed but proved themselves to be very effective. Because Ash tends to use a Pokemon's unique abilities to his advantage.

There are hundreds more so which were your favorites?

Maybe with enough comments a good poll can be included.

The Counter sheild was fantastic, It is a shame he no longer uses it because it worked really well and it made me look at the Pokemon in a new way.

I know it would be cool if one of Ash's Pokemon and an opponent use it at the same time when the two begin to use it, it will look like a break dancing contests haha

Thunder Armor

It was definately reckless since he could've KO'ed his own Pokemon.
It was definately unbelieve since it didn't.
And I'm sure it left the viewers speechless. Lol

Using Muk against Bellsprout. Very simple but freakin' effective. :p

Most of the last-minute strategies in the AG gym battles were pretty good. Except Thunder Armor. That made no sense.

Ice Aqua Jet was another really cool one, He used that in the Lily of the Valley Conference, I can't remember if he came up with it but he used it very effectively.

They never went the route with Buizel creating his own Ice Aqua Jet, did they? He even got Ice Punch but that amounted to nothing...

Man I feel stupid!! I was scratching my head over which moves to put on the poll and this was the move that was on the tip on my tongue....

I don't think the poll does justice to Ash and his crazy strategies, but hey the kids done it all so its hardy a poll that can contain his techniques.

Oh, and Dawn came up with the Spin move which Ash took and made Counter Shield with, when Dawn had Buizel, Ice Aqua Jet was her idea but after the trade Ash was the one to finally master the move.

Ice puch finnished off Gastrodon in the sinnoh league so it did have its uses.

Paulisthebest don't worry about, it I am actully suprised i rememberd it myself xD

The only time Ice Punch did something was when it beat Mr. Mime and Gastrodon, other than that either it proved useless (Flint's Infernape) or missed (Kenny's Empoleon). Haha, funny how Buizel never did battle with Torterra; it got called back by Ash when Paul brought out his.

To bad it didn't learn Blizzard; first it fires the icy blast and before the ice deminsihed it could use Aqua Jet and "fly" though it and then spin so that its water from Aqua Jet can fuse with the ice to make Ice Aqua Jet.

Blizzard beats the crap out of Sonicboom that's for sure.

Counter Shield, Ice Aqua Jet, Charizard`s improved Seismic Toss(against Blaine`s Magmar) were amazing and pretty useful as well the Underground Flare Blitz.
But dancing totodile, Thunder Armor and deflecting Fire-type moves by snivy`s tail(despite entries from Pokedex) were unbelievable and stupid.

Thunder Armor, simply because it was such a bizarre, nonsensical deus ex machina that came out of frikken nowhere.

Thunder Armor was just WTH.
And that backflip thing Pikachu did against Raichu was pretty weird. I thought it was unusually cruel of Ash throw his opponent against a tree.
Then again, he's done things like that before.
Oh, and Swallowing Energy Ball was pretty funny.

I loved the Thunder Armor!! =D

That one's my favorite, mostly because of the music that they used. And then, after the battle, I liked how Ash got shocked when he hugged Swellow. LOL. XD

Another good one, that isn't listed, is Ash's gym battle against Winona. That was an awesome battle! Basically, Ash told Swellow to dive down really close to the battlefield, and then it turned around at the last minute, and attacked Winona's Swellow. It was amazing how Ash pulled that off! =O

Thunder Armour was most likely the result of the writers being walled up in the office until they finished the episode, and they all just wanted to go home. Either that, or drugs. Nothing else can explain that travesty.

Note the AG gym battles mention. :p

Lmfao! Best comment on this thread by far. But it was insainly random, too bad you can't do it in the games.

Actually, the battle with Blaine. I was so used to Ash pulling crap to get Badges, actually battling caught me off-guard.

In that episode, Ash actually ask if he could have a badge for helping Blaine but he said no, insisting that they battle first.
