What will they do for Hikari's/Ash relationship?

I mean some people and I won't name who, don't want Hikari's/Ash relationship to be a rehash of May/Ash so what will they do to make it different? Will they;

. Make them biker all the time

. Have them just be friends

. Give more of a romancey feeling between them, without fighting

What do you think?
 
Hikari bickering with Ash would make her too much like Misty.

Hikari being best friends with Ash and being his female counterpart would make her too much like May.

They gotta find a way to NOT make her like Misty, but then NOT make her like May either.

Considering Misty and May had a wonderful and very different dynamic with Ash during their run, they're going to have to figure out a way that Hikari resembles neither of them.

This is yet another problem with Hikari, she has to be different than the previous two girls. With May it was easy, simply make her the opposite of Misty. But with Hikari you have to find a nice balance BETWEEN May and Misty, and that's tough.
 
Make them 'biker' all the time? Do you mean 'bicker' as in argue, or are they joining the bridge bike gang?
 
Maybe she'll be the one to try and "step in Ash's spotlight"...sorta a watered down version of Maria's dub character.
 
I think I'd like Hikari to be more aggressive and manic by nature than May, but not for her and Ash to bicker. Ash and Nugai should be the ones sweatdropping while Hikari pulls her crazy stunts. If Ash becomes Hikari's mentor, perhaps she could be super-confident at first and refuse his help, to make things different to Ash and May.

Romance-wise, I'm not sure. Pearlshipping doesn't appeal to me, but if the goal is for Hikari to avoid any similarities with May like the plague, then perhaps a little bit of romantic tension ought to be present. Rather than a serious thing like Pokeshipping, how about Hikari having a fangirly one-sided crush on Ash? Hehehe, Aipom could get jealous. XD It'd be clear from the start that it wasn't going to go anywhere, but it'd be funny, and possibly create some tension with another character (Nugai?) who Hikari eventually ends up with. Meh, just a thought.

I'd like it if the DP season focussed equally on all of the relationships in the trio, to be honest. But I suspect Nugai is going to be a bit left out, in the end.
 
They'll probably make first episodes as shippy as AG1 & 2 were.

Is Nugai confirmed name?
 
I think Nugai is a pun on "New Guy".

Hmm.... Their relationship WOULD be a toughie. Maybe Ash tries to help her out but she's like "Whatever, I know what I'm doing", and over the course of the series she learns to at least listen to what Ash has to say while still being independent?
 
Hikari will give hints, Ash will ignore, Nugai will realize the obviousness.
 
Speaking as a longtime shipper and romantic, one who defended Pokeshipping and adored Advanceshipping as well, I can only say this:

GET ASH TO RECOGNIZE SHE'S A GIRL!!
 
Ash should fall head over heels for her, only to have Hikari be completly obvilious to him. XD

Off topic: RebelMagmar, you do realize we're NOT getting new types, right? It's been confirmed for.... two years now?

And IMSAO (in my smartass opinion), two years can change a lot of things in the video game business.
 
They will be very good friends and whether there is any more to it than that will be argued to death for however long Hikari is in the show.
 
Hikari will be gone in 4 years anyway, so it is a mute point. Then the 5th gen girl will join and the cycle will repeat yet again.

I wonder if they'll give her the same excuse of following her rivals to another region like they did with May when they need to introduce the 5th gen girl in the anime.

A watered down version of dub Marina's character would be an ocean.

I assume you mean Marina because I don't know of a Maria in Pokémon. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I dunno, it seems to be a thread about the Ash/Hikari dynamic generally.
