What would happen if Werepokemon existed? (i.e. Humans as human-like Pokemon beasts)

I thought this a lot last night, and wondered about how in D/P/Pt that a book reveals a story about Pokemon permanently forming into humans from cocoons.

But what if that was the other way around?

Imagine this. A feral Pokemon cursed with a similiar virus like Pokerus (only worse and fatal) bites a human. At a full moon, they permanently transform into that Pokemon forever, and the unique thing is, that they remain with most of their human traits (like their face, hands, private parts, etc) yet they have the body of that particular Pokemon.

But despite it not existing in the series, would the idea of Werepokemon sound awesome, or too weird? Would you like to see it as a myth? And despite it being stupid, would it work for non-canon works, like fan fictions or art? And if you would like to see your favorite characters in the series turn into a Pokemon, let me know below.

It could be an idea for a legendary pokemon since werewolves are a legend of sorts and we've had stranger things. Could also be an idea for a creepy dex entry I mean we already have that one for Kadabra that says it used to be a human kid once. As for the human characters I personally would find it funny if someone from the anime like Team Rocket huffed something and hallucinated they were Werepokemon except for Meowth who would think he's turning into a Werehuman.

I'm pretty sure a lot of fanfiction and fanart have been made around the idea of werepokemon. But in the games I can see it as a myth like we have myths of wereanimals and other supernatural beings, and used as fairytales described in books for children. For the human characters in the show, eh, I wouldn't really like it.

Everyone would want to be a WereArceus lol.

But seriously I think it is a cool concept and it could work out quite well if implemented properly.

They can make one of the legendaries a werepokemon. Or... imagine the player character becoming a werepokemon. Like, a feature where our character discovers the ability to transform into any one Pokémon. Also more pokemons becoming available for this feature as we make progress through the gameplay, with legendaries unlocking towards the end.

There sure are a lot of possibilities for this idea.
