I always plan my team before I start a game. The team i have now is.
1. Typhlosion
2. Meganium
3. Kingdra
4. Scizor
5. Amphorous
6. Nocowl

That is my team I have planed as of right now, but im starting to reconsider. I really want to get an umbrion in there. What should I do. How would you configure the team? I definatly want to keep Typhlosion and meganium but im not sure about how to fit umbrion in.

Any suggestions.

-------------------------------------------------------------

the reasons I like each poke:

Typhlosion / Meganium - my two main pinch hitter. They can be great power houses that complement eachother perfectly. Takes care of the 2nd 6th and 7th gym.

Kingdra - Has the fewest weaknesses than any other pokemon besides spiritbomb. a great battlier and can help against the 8th gym and lance. down side its hard to find and hard to evolve; it might be under trained when i need it

Noctowl - I always love a flyer. also its ability to use physic moves makes it a valuable poke. also it can use fly. it also could sweep morty the 4th gym which i heard is one of the hardest gyms. downside is that besides that gym i dont know how helpful it can be; flying types (for me at least) are strong in the begining of the game because they level up and evolve fast and then poop out towards the end.

scizor - great bug poke, prob best in all of pokemon. its a versitle pokemon that covers the weaknesses of my two main poke ( typhlosion and meganium). Downside it can be hard to evolve and i really dont know how strong it is.

Amphorous - this is one of my personal favorite pokemon. Electric pokemon in general are real helpful because then can take out flying and water (two common types). Great attacker but downside is i dont know how durable it is.

Umbreon - another one of my personal favorites. It has great defense and is known to be an all around solid poke. down side is that it doesnt have a good move pool. Its hard to be good if your great at defense and awful at attacking.

Advice..

If you really want umbreon in there and all the other pokemon, train them all. You said that flying types poop out towards the end. If you know that you might drop noctowl towards the end then you can have umbreon in reserve. Also, if you know one of your pokemon isn't going to be as useful in one area (such as typhlosion in a cave or traveling on the sea) then you can have umbreon ready to switch in in place of typhlosion or a member of your team.

That's kind of what I've been doing since I honestly cant decide which pokemon to train either. I have like 10 pokemon I want to train but of course not all of them will be on my team all the time when I'm playing the game. Even my starter sometimes gets knocked out of the party.

As I've played through the game I've seen some of my team fall into disuse. I used to have a wobbuffet as a plan for my team but its fallen into disuse. I used to have a butterfree in my party a lot but umbreon has taken its place. Often times what you put down on paper is tweaked in reality. If you really want to play through the game with those pokemon go for it, but if you cant fit one of them in and your just positive as you go along that your team just doesn't have room then train it post story and have fun then.

I hope this helped.
