So, imagine your now a writer for Pokemon! What sort of things would you put in the series? What storylines would you create, and who would get which pokemon?

I'd do some more stuff with the Paul/Ash characters.

Personally, I'd continue the Chimchar storyline. Make a few more encounters with him and Paul. I don't think I'd have him evolve until a really important battle with him.
Other things I would do was create a rivaly between Gliger and Gliscor (If there isn't one already...I missed that episode I'm afraid).
I'd bring Cacnea back and evolve him...Give James an actual powerhouse for a change...and give Jessie a new Pokemon too...I like the idea of Yanma for her!

Anyone else?

Finish up the plots with Houou and wave. Heck, maybe even put the gyms and such on the back burner! *everyone looks at me with shock* And crossover with my fan fiction! *everyone is ready to kill me*

On second thought, I really shouldn't become a writer for the show...

Well, for Dawn, I want her to actually not make it into the Grand Festival. It's like, she expects to win contests with a minimal amount of training, and I'm sure if she was lucky enough to make it into the grand Festival she wouldn't make it past the preliminary rounds. It'll also be a good lesson for her.

Ash: I want Ash to challenge the elite 4, but lose to Lucian(I mean he WAS hard to beat in the games)

Brock: Keep doing what he's doing

Jessie: Get enough ribbons to enter the Grand Festival. She deserves it after all the misery she's been through in her life. Also, hopefully, I want her to face off against Nando in the finals and lose or tie. Now that would be a good plot twist. She should also have a Yanmega or a mothim.

James: he should be Jessie's manager for competing in contests. He has a pretty good eye, not to mention they'll look good together with the disguises they used for A Stand Up Sit Down. He should catch a Tangela and evolve it. The Victrebell sequence could be ensaring it in it's vines as it rubs him

TR is in every sngle episode. And most of their scenes are to eat up time.
I'd give Ash a ghost or dark pokemon in another saga and have him catch Hippopotas. Also give Pip less screen time and Brock's pokemon more screentime.

Somehow make up the plotholes like the GS-ball, prove that Pidgeot and Primeape (perhaps also Butterfree) still exist, reduce the amount of "Hello, I'm character-of-the-day #65784365872639, I have a problem, please help, oh and let's introduce some of my Pokémon so they can have their debut in the show, teeheehee" and replace them with character developing episodes for both the trainers and Pokémon.
Maybe throw in some background information too.

Let's see. I'd evolve the main characters evolve pokemon a bit faster. I'd make sure Ash sweeps the rest of the Sinnoh gyms.Make most filler episodes are about training. I'd give Team Rocket more than 3 Pokemon each. I'd make sure Jessie makes it to the Grand Festival. I'd make sure Ash CRUSHES Paul in the Sinnoh League.I'd make Ash win the sinnoh League. After Sinnoh I'd make a fairly short filler season where Ash's reserves will come back an shine/evolve.

*forehead slaps*

Well, Jessie got her win for the millennium. She can go back to sucking again.

Once again... too long post X_X I guess no one will bother to read XD sorry

- Ash and Dawn stay as the permament heroes of the show
Which I see likely to happen anyway
Dawn is the first to be shown as totally equal to Ash and after years of seeing Ash/Pikachu and Dawn/Piplup on everything and see them as equal stars- I just can't see Dawn leave
Also I finally understood that I don't want Ash to leave despite what I said here previously

- Paul will continue to slowly change like he already began to or at least I think he's (first in Oreburgh he didn't care to watch Ash's second try at the Gym battle... but than in the Raichu episode he stayed to watch him and saw that now he won... and without evolving Pikachu...)

- At the Sinnoh League Ash will use ALL of his Pokémon
But the final battle he'll use only his Sinnoh team
He'll beat Nando and any one shots (if there'll be any)
The final battle will be Ash VS Paul
Ash will win and this will be the thing to make Paul finally understand he's wrong and change
I guess the battle will be of each Pokémon on their team against its rival... I can see that:
Torterra and Honchkrow VS Turtwig/Grotle and Staraptor
Gliscor and Weavile VS Gliscor and Buizel/Floatzel
Electivire and Magmortar VS Pikachu and Infernape

- Paul will join the twerps

- Dawn will get her third Ribbon by using Buneary for performance and Ambipom for battles, fourth Ribbon will be Hearthome's that everyone will win her- Pip/Pachi for performance and Buneary/Ambi for battles, 5th Ribbon I guess her next Pokémon will win it alone

- Sinnoh Grand Festival: Dawn beat Jessie (if she get there... and I'd like them to find out this is Jessie but let her enter since she doesn't cheat), Nando and Zoey (and any one shots if there are) but lose to Kenny

Piplup/Buneary and Pachi/Ambi should do the performances
If there's a third performance this time than 5th capture + Pip will do
Piplup and Buneary should beat Nando's Roserade and whatever second Pokémon he'll use (Pip to get revenge on Dawn's first battle lose - something May didn't get to do)
Buneary and Ambipom should beat Zoey's Glameow and whatever second Pokémon she'll use (both Buneary and Ambi should get revenge on Glameow)
Pip and Pachi will lose to Kenny's Prinplup/Empoleon and Shinx/Luxio/Luxray

If a miracle happens and May gets there (I know this is what I'd like to happen but I try to stay realistic) than May should be the one to beat Dawn instead Kenny (that in this case won't battle Dawn at all since it'd be ridiculous to let him lose AGAIN like his first lose to Dawn and also a lose to Jessie and also to Zoey off screen weren't enough) and win this GF

- Ash challenges the Elite Four
He beats them all than battle Cynthia (or the new champion the third game might bring) and lose to her
He should also use ALL his Pokémon in this battle
4 E4 members * 5 Pokémon each (each has 5 right?) = 20
20 + Cynthia's 6 Pokémon = 26
Ash has less than 26 I think... so yeah he should use them all
Buizel/Floatzel should also get revenge against Lucian's Bronzong

- Brock leave after Sinnoh and never become a main character again

- Ash/Dawn/Paul continue to Johto where the new Battle Frontier thing that apparently exist in the third game (although not confirmed yet) will be
Ash of course will challenge that BF thing - this time the special kinds of battles (like using rental Pokémon and such things) should be kept (if there are)

Dawn obviously will do Contests and Zoey/Kenny both should stay (with Kenny now being the more threat to Dawn than Zoey) and I think Nando should disappear after Sinnoh

Paul now changed and love his Pokémon but still keep his cold attitude towards Ash and everyone and only show he's nice when he's alone with his Pokémon (I SO want to see Paul play with Pikachu when no one's around than when Ash comes he becomes cold as usual and Pikachu doesn't understand XD)
Paul won't really do anything as the sidekicks are but simply learn the life of a twerp

- Ash will take with him:
Pikachu, Infernape, Turtwig/Grotle (Pikachu is obvious and even with GSC remakes I can't see any of the Sinnoh starters off the team until 5th generation)
Buizel/Floatzel (he'll probably keep it for not separating it from Dawn)
Cyndaquil that will evolve once to Quilava
Totodile that will fully evolve into Feraligatr

(WTF they thought they're doing when they did the Quilava and Feraligatr evolutions foreshadowing in Johto and didn't do anything with it?! I'm talking about Ash telling Toto he'll be Feraligatr too one day in the Sumo episode and when Ash saw Quilava in the Johto League... Johto 2 should fix this)

Not on team but used a lot: Bayleef, Noctowl (especially Bayleef)
If Buizel/Floatzel can stay with Oak despite Dawn being with Ash than Bayleef should be on the team too

- Dawn should take all her Pokémon with her assuming she'll get only 5 in Sinnoh and catch only one or two Pokémon

- Ash will win this BF thing since he must win anything that isn't a tournament league
Dawn will beat Kenny in the GF than lose to someone

- Paul will decide to catch up with Ash and Reiji's achievements and go to Kanto to do the BF and possibly also the Orange League (but I know they'll keep to pretend Orange didn't exist -_- )

- Ash and Dawn go the 5th generation region! with only Pikachu and Piplup
Possibly Buneary too to not separate it from Pika and Ambi/Buizel to not separate them from their origianl trainers that they still care about
Ash should bring at least one of his neglected ones like Muk or something to stay on the team for most of the saga to redeem itself

- 5th generation games' hero join the group as the new sidekick and whatever he'll do - he'll be more active than Brock

- TRio can either stay or became good guys and be recurring characters that appear a lot (Jessie as a rival to Dawn, James might be a rival to Ash or new sidekick or simply be there with Jessie)

- Continue with the great build up and development for characters and plots that began in DP

- The "evil" team (and any other thing like the hunters) will be more focused on than how they're now

- It should be as close to the games as possible BUT if anything can be improved than of course it should be even if that means to not go by the games

- The new rival for Ash should finally be a girl after Gary and Paul

- Dawn should get new rivals too (but it's possible to keep Zoey/Kenny/both and have them appear less than the new rivals)

- Ash will win this league too and beat the E4 and champion

- Dawn will get a better result at the GF than previously but won't win

- Somewhere in all of that Pikachu and Infernape should learn Return (if Buneary evolve and learn it I guess it can help Pikachu to learn it too)
Pikachu should also get another attack so it won't be boring
Some of Paul's Pokémon might get Frustration before he changes than after the change they'll learn Return

This is what I want them to do and at least some of that seems likely to happen (Paul, E4, Johto 2 ...)
Oh and Brock's Happiny should fully evolve (and I prefer him to get Swinub)
Buneary shouldn't evolve but I think it will

Brock going back to Pewter (Seeing Brock's flirtatious actions seems very repetitive), May and Tracy coming back to join Ash and Dawn, and Paul being nice to his Pokemon. Oh, and Ash getting more strong Pokemon (Rhyperior, anyone?)

- Retire Team Rocket.

- Ash would actually rotate his Pokemon.

- Someone would teach Ash how to use Aura.

- Ash would rediscover the ability to be attracted to girls (though not to Brock levels).

Lets see:

Ash capture a few more pokemon, bring back a couple of his older pokemon to his main team

Make paul learn a serious lesson about how to treat his pokemon - maybe make them turn on him or something for something he does.
Make it that ash beats paul after a long grueling battle with him?

Ash gets to the pokemon league and loses a few times, but finally beats all and loses to Cynthia's Garchomp?

Bring a few intresting pokemon into the show with good plot twists like froslass, Glaceon, togekiss etc... Maybe make the Togekiss the Togechic that Misty left behind in the Mirage kingdom? It evolved and it remembers Ash?

Make dawn not win a comtest and become stonger and win by trying harder than she has? And maybe evolve piplup too.

- Introduce more multicultural characters. (I know it's a Japanese franchise but I think it would be interesting to see Pokemon in regions based on countries outside of Japan more often.)

- Evolve Chimchar sooner rather than later simply because Goukuzaru (A.K.A. Infernape) is my favorite starter.

- I liked the previously mentioned idea of having Paul joining Ash, Dawn, and Brock. It would be an interesting twist since they've never acquired a permanent traveling companion midway through the series.

- I would seriously consider giving Brock his own story arc or making him the center character in one of the films because he really deserves more attention considering how long he's been in the series.

- I would let the audience know what Max has been up to. I don't think they ever mention his age but with a small time jump, perhaps a year, it would be nice to have the gang encounter Max while he's on his own Pokemon journey.

- In the last episode, I would have gag where it turns out that Ash had been putting away money to replace Misty, May, and Dawn's bikes.

- Brock would get Riolu. When Riolu evolves into Lucario, Lucario would be able to communicate via telepathy similarly to the Lucario from the film.

- I'd pitch a Pokemon Ranger spin-off series.

- There'd be some sign that the Johto Pokemon Ash caught were still alive.

- Pikachu would have more personality like it did in the first season.

- In the last episode, I would have gag where it turns out that Ash had been putting away money to replace Misty, May, and Dawn's bikes.

He doesn't need to replace Misty's bike. Nurse Joy repaired it and it was given back to her.
