What would you like for the New Johto dex to look like

Do you think thAT they will redisgn the Johto dex or keep it the same and if you think they'll redisgn it what pokemon do you want to be in it

Ideally, it should be about 115 Pokemon long. This includes all Pokemon introduced in Generation II, minus Celebi, and the appropriate evolutionary lines to get Generation II Pokemon that are related to older Pokemon, such as Crobat and Pichu.

The National Dex should be given to you at some point before you properly start your journey in Kanto; perhaps as a gift when you become champion, or when you leave or sail on the S.S. ship. Evolutionary lines that include Generation II Pokemon that were not present in G/S (Such as Yanmega, Leafeon, Glaceon etc.) should be available pre-National Dex if you can fulfill the criteria, but their information should not be recorded, just like in RS, if you transferred Pokemon from Colosseum without the National Dex, you would not receive their Dex entries.

Also, hello, I guess, as this is my first post.

I'd like to see the crystal dex, updated to look like Sinnoh dex, add evolutionary lines from Gen IV pokemon, yanmega, mamoswine etc... and just do what Pllatinum did, have a hidden razor fang in victory road so you could level up your gliscor or does weavile need one too? Can't really see any other pokemon being in it.

Hopefully if they are smart, they will make it work like SInnoh dex where you only have to see the said creatures to complete it.

well, there is 24 evolution/Pre-evolution of Gen I and II Pokémon, so it may be 275 Pokémon. But yet, They probably won't touch the PokéDex, and keep the same Dex listing as the original.

I doubt they'll leave it completely alone. I mean, the Sinnoh dex was revised in the same generation, and since the first Johto dex was just a reordered version of the "old" (Kanto) dex, they may rearrange it to put more focus on Johto and Gen II species.

No, that would work horribly. It needs to have at least 200 Pokémon - the Gen. III games (200) and Platinum (210) had a great variety of Pokémon to construct teams from and battle against in trainer battles. Even the 150 Pokémon that Gen. I and DP had were, while not horrible, definitely lacking in variety a bit as you progressed through the game. Getting into the 250-300 range is probably too many, but the low 100s is way too few.

In my opinion, they should put the focus on Gen 2 Pokemon and their Gen 4 evolutions, and fill in the gap with a few Gen 1-3 pokemon, but not so many that they outshine the Johto Pokemon (Houndour in Kanto but Pidgey in Johto? WUT). This was my main beef with the original games so I hope they change it for the better.

It's simple, if they change the Dex (which I'm almost sure they will) they'll have the 100 Gen II Pokémon and the ones from previous Generation, as well as the ones who play a role in the plot (Bellsprout, etc.). And LOL, 115 Pokémon? count again, that's a lot more than 15 Pokémon from Gen I related to Gen II.

So it would possibly be like this:

1. The original 100 Generation II Pokémon

2. Generation I Pokémon related to Gen II Pokémon: Pikachu, Raichu (Pichu); Cleffairy, Cleffable (Cleffa); Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff (Igglybuff); Zubat, Golbat (Crobat); Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume (Bellossom); Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath (Politoed); Slowpoke, Slowbro (Slowking); Onix (Steelix); Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan (Tyrogue and Hitmontop); Chansey (Blissey); Horsea, Seadra (Kingdra); Scyther (Scizor); Jynx (Smoochum), Electabuzz (Elekid), Magmar (Magby), Tauros (Miltank -not an evolution but a gender counterpart), Eeevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon (Umbreon and Espeon), and Porygon (Porygon 2). See? That's much more than 15 Pokémon. Actually that's 32 Pokémon.

3. Other Generation I that are important to the plot: Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victrebel (Sprout Tower); Magikarp, Gyarados (should I really mention it?); Lapras (Union Cave Friday event); Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops and Aerodactyl (Ruins of Alph puzzles; you can get on fossil after completing the puzzles, depending on the version, and the Old Amber after completing some other sidequest or at the Underground, if it returns). That's 11 more for a pre-total of 143 Pokémon.

4. The ever-present Pokémon: Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam, Machop, Machoke, Machamp, Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Tentacool and Tentacruel. 14 more. Which brings up to a grand totale of 157 (bigger than Kanto's and Sinnoh's original Dexes) Pokémon for a Pokédex focused on Generation II Pokémon families. If they add their post-GenII evos and prevos, we'll have about 20 more Pokémon and with a few Kanto families we could get to a 180-200 species Dex centered on Generation II creatures.

I'd rather like a 180 species Pokédex, since Johto is a smaller region, thus having 200 species will overload it a bit.

The original was 251 and included everything (at the time), so I don't think 200 would be much of a problem.

Yep, because there were two regions to explore and the "New PokéDex" encompassed both. Now we're talking about a regional Pokédex for the Pokémon found only in Johto, during the first half of the game, before the E-4. 250 was good for two regions, for one, is too much.

How about the National Dex? it fitted 493 Pokés at ease

I agree with Veggietable, seems fairly acurate, and 180 pokemon for the regional dex is sufficient.

For the design not really fused but speech would be a cool feature, unnecessary yes, but still cool.

Johto is not going to have it's own seperate regional 'dex because it's adjacent to Kanto.
