I looked, and I couldn't find a similar thread, but if there is one already, delete this one.

I think Bonemerang should hit flying types, and be a rock type move. I think this would make more sense, You would throw the bone in the air, not just aim it at the ground.

What kind of moves would you change, and what would the new effects be?

Pretty much (almost) any special ground move should hit flying types/levitators.

Surf should have a secret OHKO effect when used on Porygon and it's evos.

I don't even get why bone club and bonemerang are ground type moves...would make MUCH more sense if they were rock (like the op said), and they can give cubone dig and earthquake so it can have some ground moves. Also I think they should make fake out a dark type move... I thought thats what it was for the first time i saw it in R/S because it just looked like a dark move to me...

And I don't "get" arial ace.... If a slaking and a metagross can learn it (among many other big ones), then its not the kind of super fast flying move I always envisioned it to be.

Bones aren't made of rocks, but they are commonly found in the ground. That's why the Bone moves (and Cubone and Marowak) are Ground-type.

Yeah, but it should hit a flying type just like how missiles are used to shoot down aeroplanes.

I will agree that all Ground-type attacks (even those not earthbound) failing to hit Flying-types is a stupid generalization. Mud Shot should affect a Taillow as much as it does a Zigzagoon, so to speak.

Throwing a bone at a Pokemon like Swellow or Skarmory won't work; sadly, unlike real-life birds, they're smart enough to dodge bones being thrown at them when they see them. Rock Slide and Rock Throw work because it's death from above, which is harder for birds to dodge. o3o

I think Surf should hit Pokemon who are flying and digging. >>; The surfs always look high enough to hit flying Pokemon, and obviously water will fill up the dug hole.

If you take that logic, then things like giga ipact shouldnt work either. They can always dodge it.Ditto with stone edge, brick break etc.

Grass Knot should lower the victim's Speed or something. Being tangled in grass generally does that, ya know...

Most birds I've seen are way smarter than an average mammal.

I always felt as though water type moves should be more effective on Steel types, the whole rusting thing you know?

Except rusting takes a long time. You can't rust the enemy's steel in the heat of battle, which demands speed (among other things).

Bug-types, I'd think. Why'd it stop being super-effective against Bugs starting from Gen. II? What was wrong with that?

Not sure if the Japanese name explains it, but the name Tail Whip always seems to me like it'd do damage.

It's Japanese name is Tail Wag, which sounds a little less threatening.
Wing Attack should have a chance of making the opponent flinch. After all, the victim is being struck by "wide, imposing wings."

Bone Club should be able to hit Flying-types and stuff with Levitate. It just doesn't make sense, as this excerpt from my fanfic illustrates.

"Now use Bone Club!" Jack ordered.

"NO!" exclaimed Roy, his Pokédex, and Jack's Pokédex simultaneously, but it was too late. Cubone swung its bone at Gyarados, but the bone passed straight through Gyarados's body, having no effect whatsoever.

"WHAT THE F-" screamed Jack.

"Watch the language! Remember the rating!" warned the Pokédex.

"Yeah, but what happened?!" exclaimed Jack. "Why didn't the Bone Club attack work?!"

"Bone Club is a Ground-type move, and Gyarados is a Flying-type," replied Roy. "Ground moves don't work on Flying-types."

"OK," said Jack, "I understand that in the case of stuff like Earthquake being used against a Fearow or Golbat, but Bone Club on a Gyarados?!"

"That is a little odd," conceded Roy.

"A little?!" roared Jack.

With a mustache.
