Since Pokemon is a product of Game Freak, I thought of bring up one of their other titles in discussion.
Now that it has since been released on the virtual console, what do you guys think of Pulseman? Like it? Hate it? Why?
I just got started playing it about a week ago. I can say one of my biggest peeves with the game is the fast pacing of it. You have a character that can run as fast as Sonic the Hedgehog in levels that require carefully timed movements. It's like trying to make a Sonic game with the level design of Mario. Also, the backgrounds look almost eye-soringly trippy.
Regardless, I kind of like the techno-themed music, it's pretty memorable. The game has interesting ideas, as well. You run around to build up electricity to power your attacks, where you can shoot out of your palms or perform this tackle where you can launch yourself across the level. The game is also pretty nonlinear, as for every "round" you get to choose which stage/mission to play. Overall, I think this game is "okay" so far. I have plans on beating it later.
