The Bulbapedia encyclopedia is always growing here at Bulbagarden! All sorts of edits and contributions sprout up every single day thanks to Pokémon enthusiasts from all around the world! Let's take a closer look at our editors' best contributions that have taken root during July 2024.

The Secrets to Stylish Success!
Ever tried going to a famed restaurant in Lumiose City, only to be told you weren't stylish enough? The nerve! Well, thanks to Boblers, now everything you need to know about becoming stylish in Lumiose City has been moved to one central place! Our articles on Lumiose City's streets have also been updated, highlighting the benefits of your stylish efforts at each location - ranging from discounts, additional shop items, hairstyles for you and your Furfrou, and of course access to the fanciest restaurants. Get out there and make your style score soar!

The new Style (Lumiose City) article is the first of many improvements being made to our Lumiose City content ahead of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
It's not Shapeshifting, it's Fusion.
Fusion was introduced to the world in Pokémon GO this summer during the 2024 Global Pokémon GO Fest, bringing with it two strong battle contenders with Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma! As GO enthusiast SlyCooperFan1 writes in the new Fusion (GO) article, Fused Pokémon appeared as Raid Bosses for Fusion Raids. Upon winning the raid, the raid rewards Fusion Energy that corresponds to the Raid Boss. Fusion costs 1,000 Fusion-specific Energy, another eligible Pokémon in the Pokémon Box, and 30 Candy of both Pokémon. Combine powers to win big in battles with both of Necrozma's forms, and gain access to two new Adventure Effects that spawn certain diurnal or nocturnal Pokémon. Keep on adventuring, Trainers!

Dedication to Duel
Have you heard of Pokémon Duel? It was a figure-based strategy game on mobile, though it was only live from 2017 to 2019. It had a story mode, although when the game was taken offline, the story was left on a cliffhanger. But never fear! We now have pages for all of Duel's characters, from Luca to Brenda to Carlo, thanks to sidegame specialists Welkamo and Boblers! Check 'em out to learn about these characters' stories, cut short though they were. Pokémon Duel may be offline, but our coverage never stops! If you are an expert in one of over 100 spin-off games, feel free to join today and share your knowledge with the world!

Snap, Crackle, Card Pop!

For the uninitiated, Card Pop! is a multiplayer feature in the video games Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team GR! on the Game Boy Color. When two games are connected via infrared, each player will receive a random card. Card Pop! is the only way to obtain certain Phantom Cards--Mew in Pokémon Trading Card Game and Lugia and Here Comes Team Rocket! in Pokémon Card GB2.

Now why are we talking about an obscure game mechanic released on a niche game over 25 years ago? Well, Bulbapedia had some very specific questions, and Game Boy Wizard rarecandybar came back after several years just to answer!
  • Does Card Pop! work between different languages?
  • Is the player unable to use Card Pop! with two players with the same name or ID
  • Which cards exactly are available?
In July 2024, more than 25 years later, we finally have our answers! To find out the answers, you'll have to read the page's new content. Thanks, rarecandybar!

Take Terapagos to Laqua!
What's been happening on the Horizon? Our protagonists are making their way through the Paldea region, and at the beginning of July, we watched episode HZ057A Terapagos I Don't Know’! Liko, Roy, and Dot completed the first part of their Terastal Training tests, and to learn more about Terapagos's background, they decide to meet up with Clavell and Geeta. Read on for the detailed plot summary written by Mewtwo150Mew151, FinnishPokéFan92 , Catpolof, YoungMan16, and the rest of our anime contributors who bring you up to date coverage on Pokémon Horizons: The Series every week!

The Bulbapedia Stamp of Approval!
Pokémon-themed Mail isn't just for the games! It turns out, you can send your own mail with Pokémon postage stamps! For those lucky to live in Europe, Japan, or even Australia, there have been many opportunities to purchase these commemorative postage stamps to enjoy however you please: from sticking on your letters and packages to even simply collecting! Please enjoy these beautiful prints of cards old and new alongside two very traditional Japanese-inspired artworks. Thanks to merch madman Rustle for heavily expanding this page!

A Magical Manga Journey
Magical Pokémon Journey was a shojo manga released in the late 90's to early 2000's, focusing more on the relationships between humans and Pokémon, between Pokémon (they could speak in this manga!), and between humans. Now, courtesy of editor Vendredi, we have more info about the one-shot characters Tamarind and Carob, who appeared in the bonus chapter The Hill of the Lone Star Tree.

Tamarind was our first successful entry from the Bulbapedia Bulletin Board, a mission board of curated tasks to help editors get involved in new ways. Those who complete one of these tasks guarentee themselves a spot in the next issue of What's Growing On!
You're a Gem
