Main article: Mega Dimension
Are you ready for Mega Dimension? Prepare for the unexpected as distortions begin to appear across Lumiose City!
Meet Ansha and bake special donuts to feed to Hoopa and awaken its powers to transform distortions into portals to Hyperspace Lumiose! There, discover plenty of familiar returning Pokémon - but watch out! In a series first (mostly), hyper-strong Pokémon will appear at levels far beyond 100!
Want to become a donut master? Gather the best Berries to make supercharged donuts that provide a range of effects while in hyperspace - while there, you’ll find Berries that result in even better effects, aptly named Hyperspace Berries! Some extra special donuts even resemble Groudon and Kyogre.. we wonder what for??
Once again an incredible number of our volunteers jumped right in to add all the revealed content for the upcoming DLC. A big thank you to Chaogotchi, CuteSylveon42, GougingFire, HeroponSuperT2, InfernoOverdrive, Jacob9594, Kathylikestoread, MilesGiaBao, Oneofthosedf, Pikmin3WiiU, Reign, Skarloeyisyoung, SylveonFan700, Team Rocket Grunt, Trainersurrel0409, Veledwin, Abcboy, Anzasquiddles, Chao, Coffee, Landfish7, SuperPikaPool13, and more for keeping us updated on all the details for Mega Dimension!
(...Hey, does anyone else think Ansha kinda looks like Diantha? Hmm..)
Main article: Pokémon Pokopia
Protoplasmic protagonist Ditto is prepared to play with plenty of peculiar pals in Pokémon Pokopia!
Among the new faces is Professor Tangrowth, a lonely professor Pokémon who will mentor Ditto in restoring a familiar-looking lost land, Peakychu, a pallid Pikachu with droopy ears and a pale glow, and Mosslax, a Snorlax who's slumbered so long, its body has become covered in mossy growth - a flower has even blossomed on its head! There's also Smearguru, a prolific painter whose projects have left its coat splattered with paint - what a passionate practitioner of art~
Ditto will also work together and play with the other Pokémon it meets in the abandoned landscape, working together to rebuild by constructing homes and fulfilling requests to expand and improve the town. And with the power of the Internet, up to 3 other Ditto friends can join the fun as well! Of course, as the Transform Pokémon, Ditto can also naturally change its appearance with ease to choose the perfect hairstyle, color, and outfit to show off to all its friends. Stylish!
Thanks fellow Ditto i.e. CThree16, EthanLac, MannedGuild65, Pokelova, SlyAceZeta, Superjustinbros., Torpoleon, 4iamking, Abcboy, Anzasquiddles, Coffee, Meeper12346, SuperPikaPool13, and others for transforming our Pokopia content to reflect all the new info :)
Main article: Eevee Day
Did you know there's an official holiday in Japan dedicated entirely to Eevee? It's called Eevee Day, and it's observed on November 21st - a pun on Eevee's name in Japanese, as the numbers "11/21" can be read in goroawase as i-i-bu-i, spelling イーブイ Eievui.
It's been commemorated by the Pokémon franchise in various ways over the years, like the annual Eevee Day Celebration! event in Pokémon Masters EX and the web manga I Can't Choose, Eevee. Check out our new page documenting the history of this day and how it's been celebrated over the years!
Shout-outs to Drjwho, Apopheniac, FolksCallMeHilbert, RotomAmiti, and Vendredi for their help in filling it out, and especially to Anzasquiddles, who was instrumental in orchestrating the Eeveelution of this page!
Main article: Pokémon Café ReMix
Among the many ongoing live service games, Pokémon Café ReMix is an underappreciated treasure. Nobody knows this better than PokemonSpears, who is actively expanding the article extensively, elevating it into a complete overview covering all the game has to offer. They've been hard at work uploading images, updating the game's blurb, adding extensive gameplay details and mechanics info, and much more! Keep an eye out as our coverage for this game continues to grow - we may end up splitting out many key aspects into their own pages!
Reaching the Horizons
We don't mention often enough how hard our volunteers work to keep up with the ongoing animated series as Pokémon Horizons: The Series continues its epic tale. As a show of appreciation, we'd like to acknowledge those who've been working hard to keep our content polished and up-to-date:
- Misaxx99 has done great work keeping up with writing out plot summaries for each episode.
- Playerking95 edits episode pages with character lists as they air for easy reference.
- DomiDsLP curates our animated series staff lists.
- PokemonMasterJamal3 helps maintain the ever-popular Trivia sections.
- Shinka is an all-round editor who adds plot details to articles, cleans up pages, and more.
- BigDocFan is involved in overall editing and image sourcing.
Main article: Phantasmal Flames (TCG)
The latest TCG set has arrived! Released November 14, Phantasmal Flames adapts the Japanese Inferno X expansion and brings more Mega-Evolved Pokémon ex to the game, including Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar. Anzasquiddles, BrownieBombsTCG, NaMroz, and other diligent TCG contributors have been working hard to cover the latest Pokémon cards on Bulbapedia. Great work everyone!
Goita Tile 'Em All
Main article: Pokémon Goita
Ever heard of Goita? It's a Japanese game a bit like Uno or Crazy Eights, but with tiles instead of cards, and more strategy than random luck. It is played 2v2 (like a Multi Battle!) and everyone gets the same number of tiles right from the start, rather than drawing from a deck.
Each turn you play one tile to defend and another to attack, and the player who empties their hand first scores points based on their final tile (and yes, Uno has scoring too - check the rulebook!). This means saving your strongest tiles for a dramatic finish can pay off. Think of holding Mewtwo for a clutch sweep, or playing it early just to thin your hand. Do you go for a fast win with weaker Pokémon, or save your Legendary for a stylish knockout?
Sound interesting? You're in luck! A Pokémon edition of Goita is due to release in Japan later this month, alongside a free tutorial app to help you learn. Just be careful not to mix them up with your Shogi pieces.. unless you want to explain why Pikachu is suddenly checkmating the king?! Big shout-out to Anzasquiddles for creating the full article on this fun new Pokémon experience!
The following video from the Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel introduced Pokémon Goita - check it out below if you'd like a peek at the game in action!
Bulletin Board highlights
Each month we show our appreciation to those who contribute to the community Bulletin Board. This month we have two tasks to highlight thanks to the contributions of several of our volunteers!
- The article on the 2022 Daybreak update for Legends: Arceus was expanded and cleaned up by Jacob9594, Lavalord503, Pokemon001b, TrainerSplash, 4iamking, and Landfish7. It's the dawn of a fresh new day for this content - thanks y'all!
- ButSmeargleCan'tUseTheMove found through testing that the Covert Cloak behaves identically to the Ability Shield Dust, protecting the holder from the additional effects of damaging moves like Anchor Shot and Eerie Spell as well as Abilities like Toxic Chain and Poison Touch. Thanks! And good to know~
The Bulbapedia team is able to bring this article thanks to the contributions of our dedicated community volunteers. We’re always welcoming new editors as we continue to expand and enhance our shared knowledge of the Pokémon franchise. If you'd like to help out, check out our guide on getting started, or come chat with us on the Bulbagarden Discord server. We look forward to seeing you!
