As Bulbagarden's community-driven encyclopedia, Bulbapedia is always growing thanks to the hard work and dedication of Pokémon fans across the world. Each day new edits and contributions sprout up as contributors bring their expertise and passion to the project. Let's take a moment to highlight some of the standout contributions that blossomed in September 2025.

Mega Malamania
Main articles: My Friend Malamar, Malamar (Pokémon)

As you may recall (how could you not?), Malamar took Lumiose City and the world by storm last month with its hypnotic friendliness. We at Malapedia cough uh I mean Bulbapedia (we’re still a bit Malamesmerized) joined in on the fun of the My Friend Malamar campaign as well, just for the love of the game!

To celebrate our Malamarvellous friend, we revamped our front page with a Malamar colorscheme, shared a letter to Malamar, and added a link to a special Browsing Portal for finding all things Malamar on the wiki. A bonus feature of this Browsing Portal was a community-led effort to list all the ways to say "I love Malamar!" in languages from across the world, and even the wider multiverse!

Mega Malamar in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
And in a totally shocking culmination of this clever campaign, Mega Malamar was revealed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A! We were very impressed with how quickly the editing community came together to add all the juicy biology details and possible design origins for this new Megalicious Mega-Evolved form.

Big thanks to InfernoOverdrive, Jacob9594, HeroponSuperT2, Luan, Doomdorm64, Landfish7, anzasquiddles, MegumiMakoto, Qwerty12, Rollthegrant, Veledwin, Mlum, Umbee, Nikuriku, KommanderAwesome, Pikablu151, YoungMan16, IanRobertDoster, and more for your contributions to these pages!

Additionally, the revamped Main Page and special Browsing Portal were designed by Rustle, the Message for Malamar was written by Landfish7 and Storm Aurora, and the "I love Malamar!" feature was conceived by C.Ezra.M. Thanks for making it happen!

A fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to Mega Evolution
Main articles: Pokémon Legends: Z-A; Mega Dimension

Following the reveal of Mega Malamar, five more Mega Evolutions were revealed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A in the September 12 Nintendo Direct.

Game screenshots of Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, and Mega Greninja from the Legends: Z-A site
The first Three Mega-Evolved Musketeers include the warrior Chesnaught, the mage Delphox, and the rogue Greninja. These elusive new Mega Evolutions highlight the hidden weaponry and skills of our Kalos companions: Mega Chesnaught converts its armor shield into a heavy-hitting axe, Mega Delphox manifests magical flying brooms for an assist, and Mega Greninja boldly hangs from a spinning water shuriken from which it strikes its opponents.

Unlock the Mega Stones for this tricky trio by battling Trainers in Ranked Battles at the Z-A Battle Club. Greninjite can be grabbed first starting October 16 in Season 1, while Delphoxite can be drawn out when Season 2 arrives, and Chesnaughtite can be chased down upon Season 3.

The Mythical Pokémon Hoopa rings in the arrival of two more Mega Evolutions as part of the newly announced DLC, Mega Dimension. Encounter the Mega-Evolved forms of Raichu when the dynamic duo is unleashed alongside the DLC on October 16th.

Mega Raichu X
is a Pikachu-colored punching powerhouse with a body more closely resembling regular Raichu, and its two massive tails allow it to float thanks to their electromagnetism. Mega Raichu Y is colored like Raichu but more closely resembles Pikachu, with its cheek pouches able to channel powerful Electric attacks through its tail and spiky, horn-like fur in an instant.

As with Malamar, our dedicated editors quickly brought us all the latest details on these five new forms. We give our thanks to Lakelimbo, Shinka, Petrichor, NKT Gallade, Chaogotchi, SkeletonPaintbrush, KyoPa, Fawfaw, TrainerSplash, and several others for their contributions. Great work guys!

Human Ditto after transforming in Pokémon Pokopia
Ditto Ditto :)

Main article: Pokémon Pokopia

Pokémon's first game to be exclusive to Switch 2 is also its first life sim???

As announced in the September Nintendo Direct, Pokémon Pokopia stars a Ditto transformed into a human. In this form, Ditto transforms its body to use the moves of Pokémon it meets to collect materials and transform the landscape, building a cozy paradise for even more Pokémon friends to come stay. What kinds of furniture will you build or vegetables will you grow in this brand new easygoing adventure? We'll have to stay tuned for more details!

Shout out to Lakelimbo for creating the page for this new spin-off and Meeper12346 for creating the page for the playable Ditto! Additionally, thanks to Drjwho, abcboy, Torpoleon, 4iamking, and others for their contributions as well :)

DLC got some TLC!
Main article: Downloadable content

Thanks to 4iamking, our page on DLC has been elevated from a simple directory to a detailed article, with a historical overview of the series' downloadable content and a handy table listing out the various paid and free content updates and expansions throughout the core series and spin-offs. Additionally, they've created a new template for navigating around pages and sections that go into detail on specific DLC. Thanks for making this content easier to search and find, 4iamking!

Hidden Pearls Awaiting Discovery

Main article: Pokémon x Natural History Museum

With the Pokémon franchise’s 30th anniversary fast approaching, Chao opens the showcase on an upcoming collaboration with the esteemed Natural History Museum in London. The illustrious Cranbourne Boutique will evolve into a pop-up shop for visiting Trainers to unearth select merchandise—with some exclusives to truly memorialize your visit! There’s still some time until the shop opens early next year, so keep an eye out for ticket listings to be a part of this historical moment yourself, or check out the shop online to support from afar!

BFF! (Big Fabulous Fine-Tuning!)
Main article: Partner Pokémon (Mystery Dungeon)

Mystery Dungeon fans are certainly familiar with their beloved partner - while each game's partner has a different personality, they're always a reliable companion on your dungeoneering adventures. Thanks to Dougbro1, our article on these longstanding allies has been cleaned up, now focusing more on the characters themselves than the overall plot. For those looking to relive their adventures, never fear - you can still view the detailed plot summaries in the "Plot" section for each game, which are linked from the corresponding game sections in the article.

Are You Board Yet?
Pokémon games are an experience that go beyond your TV or phone screen, as there are plenty of games for tabletop too! And no, we don't mean tabletop mode games for Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 (maybe someday?) Instead, this month we have two board games of before and now to share!

Pokémon chips from Pokémon Master Trainer 1999, including chips for Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Clefairy, Pikachu, and Meowth
PokemonSpears has fleshed out the page for the 1999 board game Pokémon Master Trainer and uploaded accompanying images to the Bulbagarden Archives. At the turn of the millenium, the earliest Pokémon fans were traveling the Kanto region from Pallet Town to Indigo Plateau to battle and catch Pokémon (as cardboard chips) from the Generation I games. Only the strongest Trainers could collect 20 Power Points and defeat a Pokémon Master to become "the World's Greatest Pokémon Trainer!"

Per a submission by HurricaneKat on the forums, Landfish7 created the page for the electronic board game Pokémon Trainer Trivia. Answer up to 1,000 true-or-false questions using the "GameMaster" unit to show off your Pokémon knowledge, and perhaps even learn something new. Play "Solo! Train" for a high score or compete with friends to be the fastest to hit your Pokémon button and answer questions correctly - will you choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, or Pikachu? We're picking Bulbasaur, of course.

Bulletin Board and Beyond
Each month we show our appreciation to those who contribute to the community Bulletin Board. This time around, we highlight a particular user who went above and beyond, as well as a couple others for related contributions we hadn't even listed yet!

In September, Mortagua2 completed the pages for the newly opened Pokémon Center Kagawa, the 2017 Pokémon Alola Region Sticker Book, and the third Simplified Chinese TCG expansion of the Scarlet & Violet era, Fearless Terastal. That's 3 different board tasks. Way to stick to it, Mortagua2!

As a bonus round from beyond the board, Mortagua2 also went ahead and created the article for the fourth Chinese SV expansion, titled Bonus Round! And the latest expansion? Cipher has us covered with Ardent Obsidian, so shout out to him as well! Furthermore, anzasquiddles created the page for the second expansion of the Japanese MEGA series, Inferno X. Great work everyone!

We've just refreshed the Bulletin Board with a new set of tasks, so be sure to check it out!

The Bulbapedia team is able to bring this article thanks to the contributions of our dedicated community volunteers. We’re always welcoming new editors as we continue to expand and enhance our shared knowledge of the Pokémon franchise. If you'd like to help out, check out our guide on getting started, or come chat with us on the Bulbagarden Discord server. We look forward to seeing you!
