Main article: 2025 Pokémon World Championships

The 2025 Pokémon World Championships took place in Anaheim, California, from August 15 through 17, marking the event's twentieth year and third stop in Anaheim. For the Sunday finals, all four competitions, VGC, TCG, GO, and UNITE, shared one stage enhanced with dynamic LED floor effects. Players across all four divisions advanced through preliminary rounds into elimination brackets, with matches concluding in best-of-three or best-of-five formats depending on the branch.

Highlights this year included the introduction of the 2025-26 Standard format in the TCG, Regulation I Double Battles in Scarlet and Violet for VGC, and the Great League format for GO. In GO, Ved “Beelzeboy” Bamb became the first Indian Pokémon World Champion, and in UNITE, PERÚ Unite secured the championship over Japan's ZETA DIVISION. The weekend also featured live music, with Cam Steady debuting two original tracks Good Game and Just Beyond written and performed exclusively for Worlds 2025. Both songs are included on the official 2025 Worlds album.

Getting together all the info for this annual community event is a monumental effort. As such, we'd like to recognize anzasquiddles for their hard work in leading the charge covering the content for Worlds on the wiki this year. They are also responsible for bringing you articles on the other events, exhibitions, and more featured in this article. Fantastic job!

Astronomical!

Main article: Pokémon Astronomical Observatory

Keep your eyes to the stars, as the Pokémon Astronomical Observatory is falling our way soon! The traveling astronomy exhibit seeks to bring Pokémon and their ecology out of this world through comparisons to the celestial sky, including such bodies as the Sun, Moon, and galaxies far, far away.

This initiative is driven by the "My First Pokémon Project", the team formed by The Pokémon Company in 2018 responsible for other popular child-friendly Pokémon experiences such as the Pokémon Fossil Museum. Stay tuned for the first exhibition starting in November in Kanagawa, Japan - we’ll be sure to cover all the details once it begins!

Sandwich-Eating Stars take a Spin on the Speedway
Main articles: Honda Koraidon Project and Toyota Miraidon Project

Pokémon fans have seen their favorite game mascots come to life like never before, thanks to exciting collaborations with Toyota and Honda.

The Toyota Miraidon in Drive Mode
The Toyota Miraidon Project brought the cover star of Pokémon Violet to life with a rideable, transforming model of Miraidon. Initiated by the Toyota Engineering Society in 2023, the project involved around 300 engineers who built the nearly life-sized Toyota Miraidon in just six months, complete with a Joy-Con controller for mobility and the ability to switch between Low-Power and Drive Modes. First revealed at Toyota's WakuWaku World event, the model has since been displayed in Tokyo and even made its way to the 2025 Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim.

The Honda Koraidon in its Sprinting Build
The Pokémon Company also partnered with Honda for the Honda Koraidon Project, a real-world recreation of Koraidon's Sprinting Build form from Pokémon Scarlet. Built by a team of about 40 Honda engineers and volunteers, the almost full-scale Honda Koraidon can walk on four legs, balance on two wheels using Honda's Riding Assist technology, and sprint at speeds of up to 15 km/h. First revealed on Pokémon Day 2025, it has since been exhibited in Tokyo and made its full debut at the three-day Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race last month.

Un méga événement
Main article: Pokémon Mega Evolution Paris

As an early September surprise, we also have Pokémon Mega Evolution Paris, a two-day free event set for September 13-14 to be held at the Westfield, Forum Des Halles shopping mall in Paris, France, celebrating the Mega Evolution phenomenon in anticipation of Legends: Z-A!

The event will feature a number of activities, including the Lumiose City Tourism Hub, where attendees can immerse themselves in Pokémon's Paris: Lumiose City, and catch some postcards along the way! Two demos of Legends: Z-A will also be available, providing players the chance to try out the Z-A Royale and battle Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon, respectively. Visitors will also be able to meet Pikachu and Eevee, and obtain a variety of goodies to take home.

Additionally, in a series first, Pokémon GO will host a Stamp Rally outside of Japan - players can collect digital stamps by hitting up seven key spots around Paris, and participants who share pics of their Pokémon in these locations to social media with the hashtag #PokemonGOParis will be entered for a chance to win a trip of four to Japan. Hype Up for our biggest sync grid expansion yet!
Main articles: Skill (Masters), Category:Skills in Pokémon Masters EX

We have more content additions to share: Gather your sync orbs and get ready to Zero In on this spotlight! Much like Abilities in other games, skills in Masters EX are inherent powers often shared by sync pairs and possess their own level of individuality—so much so that they needed their own space! Individual skill pages were first workshopped by our Sidegame Smith Boblers back in June 2023, and the project has since seen tremendous growth thanks to the Unyielding efforts of FolksCallMeHilbert, Storm Aurora, Chao, Wowy, Lemmay, and Vendredi! With a newfound Clear View of the main skill hub, enough page space was saved just in time to account for the next generation of dazzling and sophisticated thematic skills!

Skills have also been meticulously categorized based on how they activate, what effects occur upon activation, and who on the battlefield is affected. There’s also a whole category dedicated to skills with their own tiers of power—talk about a Power Play! And don’t worry: skills exclusive to Master and Arc Suit sync pairs get their own regal spotlight as well! With well over 100 categories and 1400 skill pages to explore, you can now be Better Prepared to Build Up your next Dashing Team!

There are always new skills being introduced with the game’s monthly updates, so be sure to check out the main skill list to catch the latest additions, or raise that energy cap and help out with expanding!

A winning strategy is on the cards
Main article: Deck archetype (TCG)

With Worlds behind us, we've added a number of the most popular and successful deck archetypes in the TCG competitive scene, such as Gholdengo ex, still played in the Standard format, and Infinite Flapple Loop, which played in the Expanded format this season. These pages were created thanks to TCG deck-xperts anzasquiddles and C.Ezra.M. How will you use these decks of past and present to ensure a future of wins? Ultimately, the cards are in your hands!

The Springs may be Secluded, but our info on this expansion is available to all! Big thanks to Apopheniac, Maverick Nate, SuperPikaPool13, Nescientist, NaMroz, HeroponSuperT2, and everyone else who helped cover content from this expansion! Way to grow!

You can keep up to date on all of your TCG Pocket needs via our very own Pocket Portal, powered by our TCG Pocket team.

More additions to experience
The wiki has experienced a few more updates worth exhibiting!

Pokémon Sword and Shield may have debuted almost 6 years ago now (2019!), but it's thanks to a recent Coalossal effort by Brin that we now have beautiful quality models for all of the Pokémon in the games and DLC uploaded and added to their species pages. A crown achievement!

In the world of Pokémon UNITE, Arcaninehero created the page for the 5v5 battle mode First to 500. Arcaninehero has also partnered with Lakelimbo to catalogue all the achievements you can get in the game. Additionally, Luigi1234 has updated the Battle Pass page with all the details up to the latest season as of September 3rd!

New Pokémon Snap photographer Drjwho has focused in on creating a number of articles for the game last month, including pages for the Tellur Meteorite, Lental Travelogue, and Sweet! Medals, as well as the player's profile and the various scannable research spots found in courses. They also snapped the stickers, frames, and filters for the game per one of the tasks on the wiki Bulletin Board. Flashy!

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorer Eridanus has dug deep and published his discoveries in a full list of moveset changes throughout the series, expanded the page on status conditions, as well as created a list of status conditions in other languages. Team player Theroux has also been hard at work updating and adding various PMD mechanics info, including adding the "New mechanics" section for each game, giving a better sense of how the series has evolved over time.
