What's with the guy with six Magikarp?

There might be a thread like this, I'm not sure. But has anyone else noticed, that in every generation of Pokemon games so far, there is some fool Fisherman who insists on using a team consisting entirely of Magikarp? How can he possibly think that's a good idea? He's a waste of time to beat and yields next to no experience.
 
They probably watched the anime and got Ash's ideas about evolution screwed up.
In all seriousness, the fishermen may just be very fond of Magikarp.

Magikarp are fun to catch I think :)

Or maybe they are just waiting for them to evolve.
 
He's one of those people who believes that using Splash 40 times in a row will unlock Magikarp's secret ability to use Hyper Beam.
 
They are lonely people that catch the weakest pokemon in existeace just to interact with other humans
 
They're just noobs that spent too much time reading theories and creepypasta.
 
I think he's just really, really unlucky or lazy, so the only Pokémon he can actually capture are the ones that bounce onto the land and flop around until they hit a Poké Ball and are captured entirely by accident.

The one in Gen V must have really taken some perseverance, though, since not only does he have six Magikarps... they're level 60!
 
To be honsest, I'd like to think they're the outcasts of society. You know, the kids all of us picked on in high school? They can't seem to be able to make friends or get laid, so they catch the wimps of the Pokemon World so they can have someone to relate to.

Or, in a much less in-depth thinking, they just really, really, really like Magikarp.
 
I think they are just patient men, waiting to destroy the world with a team of 6 Gyarados.
 
I think they are equivalent to fishermen in the real world, in that they are simply catching to find the biggest. So it makes sense that they would have an entire team, because that is all they have really caught.
 
I'm pretty sure it's a joke team. Like that Hells Angel guy in DPP whose only pokemon is a Cleffa.

FV might be right,but don't think !TLZ's right. pokemon can suck ass because of gameplay and storyline(too many things leading to boredom),so is unlikely GF and BIg N would do that,specially given how hard/tiring programming is
