Here you can talk about what your favorite move animations are, both from the games, anime, or any other Pokémon media.

Personally, I've always been a huge fan of how Hyper Beam was animated in the first season of the anime. It just seemed to have such an impact compared to later generations. In the games, my favorite might be Thunder from Gen 3. I love the background changes and just the intensity it has.

Seismic Toss in Pokemon Battle Revolution looked hilarious. xD

Also in the earlier games the animation for Pikachu's signature move Volt Tackle looked pretty cool. :)

Oh and Hyper Beam looked really cool in Pokemon Stadium.

Aurora Beam is my favorite, it's so pretty and is just my favorite move. It looks even better/prettier in the anime as well.

I really love how Psyshock looks in the gen VI games, it just looks cool that the user creates material out of thin air and then attacks with it.

I also love Lava Plume, just looks incredibly awesome and powerful.

I literally all the move animations from both the anime and the games. But if I were to choose, I would say Heal Block. I specially let my Lunatone learn Heal Block in White 2 so that I could see the animation whenever it used the move.

From the anime side, I would choose Spacial Rend. It looks so cool!

Being a frequent Gengar aficionado since Gen IV and a fan for even longer, I've grown to love the animation for Shadow Ball out of repeated usage alone.

Leaf Blade's Gen. III animation is awesome! A trail of leaves swirl around the opponent, you hear a "Swish, swish, SHOOM" and a glowing X-shaped cut appears over the opponent!
...Then in Diamond and Pearl it gets changed to a green sword getting waved in front of the target. Aw, man...

Gunk Shot. It's just perfect.

I really love how Psyshock looks in the gen VI games, it just looks cool that the user creates material out of thin air and then attacks with it.

I read "Psyshock" as "Psyduck," and needless to say was quite confused when I opened the spoiler. xD But I do agree! I think a lot of Psychic-type moves though pretty cool with the updated graphics. Especially now that they can be viewed in 3D, it really gives the moves a somewhat psychedelic feeling that serves them justice. But maybe that's a little exaggerated. :p

Another move I love the look of is Brave Bird. Flashy, but does the attack justice. No other move aesthetics stand out to me too much, but I think it really goes back and forth. Some of them look fantastic, while others look rather cheesy, like Iron Hammer, I think. Would love to see some more beautiful moves that aren't just exclusive to legendaries, though. Geomancy looks great, but isn't something that you really get to see a lot. :\

Gen6's Brave Bird. The whoosh and slashing sound is oddly satisfying to hear, not to mention the clean impact of the animation.

Gen6 Fiery Dance. Volcarona spinning and instantly pointing its wings forward, causing a massive pillar of spinning fire at the opponent. Another move animation that's satisfying to me.

Also, Gen3's Leaf Blade. It somehow got messed up in later generations, but the animation of leaves slicing through the opponent left a lasting impression on me.

The fang moves of Gen4. There's only one bite, but I love the effects.

The Gen 2 animation for Surf always felt really impressive. I also remember really liking the N64 Pokemon Stadium animations for eye moves like Glare or Mean Look, though they didn't do any damage. Earthquake too, it always looked really devastating.

Mine would be Feint Attack, or Faint Attack as it was known then, from Gen III games. The background changing and your Pokémon momentarily turning invisible to hit the foe was just sinister and awesome.

Dark Pulse, Dragon Pulse(in Generation V), Aerial Ace, Surf(in Generation IV), and Flame Wheel spring to mind.

Gen I - Thunder, Surf and Tri Attack

Same deal with Gen III + Shadow Ball.

Since Gen III I turn battle scene off

There are probably some others but 'Nature's Madness' is the first one that springs to mind.

I gotta say I absolutely love Swords Dance in Gen VII. It's my new favourite animation, the way it looks and sounds just makes you feel so ready to kick some ass after that.

Some of my favorite move animations from Gen VI were Draco Meteor, Retaliate, Close Combat, Thunder, and Brave Bird. In general, I really loved the animations that have a mini "cut-scene." So you can bet I was thrilled to get z-moves in Gen VII that each have their own mini-cutscenes (albeit some drag on a bit too long).
