Hajimari no Uta. It's not just a great Pokémon song, it's a really awesome tune. It was hard to choose, there are some really cool ending songs (HELLO BOYS AND GIRLS TAKE ME TO YOUR HEART) in Pokémon.
The only ones I've heard are "A Small Thing" (I was amazed when 4Kids left it half in Japanese in the dub), "I Will Be With You (Where The Lost Ones Go)," and "ONE." All are good songs, but "A Small Thing" wins hands down for me. For some reason I link it with "The Circle of Life" from The Lion King. Maybe because of the epic feeling it gives off? I don't know. And then it played during Ash and Paul's sunset scene... :crush:
My memory is a bit fuzzy, so I can't recall if it was abused a whole lot from AG to the end of DP (guessing it was, it's a very beautiful piece), but the two instances that I mentioned were magical for me and why it's my favorite movie ending theme.
Edit: Scratch that, just took a peak at "Ice Cream Syndrome." The song itself didn't appeal to me much (I prefer the opening they did for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), but the animation was beautiful and it felt like a nice farewell to the DP cast. Much better than the ending song we got in the last DP episode, imo.
