Even if you're like me and can say you pretty much like anything, I'm asking you to narrow it down to one genre. You can be specific, like "Norwegian Power Metal!" or more general, like "Pop music!"

Me? While I listen to most everything from K-pop to death metal, classic rock to dubstep, and most everything in-between, if forced to choose I'd probably go with Metalcore/Death Metal. The amount of energy that goes into it and is released is just overwhelming and awesome. It can be positive energy, as heard in "End of the Age" by Becoming the Archetype, or aggressive energy like "Bleed" by Meshuggah. My favorites bands of this genre are Demon Hunter, Gideon, The Devil Wears Prada, Mastodon, and really anything that's really heavy and makes you want to headbang. xD

So, what are your favorites genres?

If it counts as a genre, video game music, including video game cover bands.

Otherwise, heavy metal. NWOBHM, U.S. power metal, and 70s proto-metal are my favorite subgenres - I favor metal with melodic vocals. I find the melodies can be very similar to video game music, which is how I got into metal.

I'm also a big fan of prog rock, and in the last few years I've gotten into jazz and funk.

I'd say dance pop. Seriously, popular music since the mid-2000s-ish has (for the most part) not disappointed in my opinion.

Confessions on a Dance Floor was the first dance-heavy pop album I've purchased, and I haven't looked back since. <3

You have good taste, dude. I got the chance to see Mastodon a few years back. It was a lot of fun.

I would have to say my favorite is Punk in general. From Punk Rock to Grindcore - it's all so great.

In general, rock.

More specifically, classic rock and heavy metal. I also appreciate mariachi and dubstep.

Favorite genre: Pop.

Although Pop is what I mainly listen to my tastes also go out to: Hip-hop and some rap. When it comes to rap I'm not that into it except from a few artists.
This doesn't mean I don't enjoy some types of Japanese music though :D. Not really sure what it's called but I do enjoy some songs from animes in Japanese.

If I were to pick one genre, it would probably be rap, but I also like classic rock and listen to metal from time to time.

I'd have to say a combo of rock/pop with some metal thrown in. I love Linkin Park and Disturbed but I'll listen to gentler things like The Fray. Oh and I love Weird Al to pieces, as his music is the awesome sauce.

I love disco. My preference is for electronic-based disco such as that of Giorgio Moroder, but I appreciate the genre in all its forms.

I really like really fast paced techno and power metal. Especially when that metal is Scottish pirate metal :p. But I also listen to a bit of pop and a whole megaton of orchestated pieces.

My favorite genre is Alternative. It contains a lot of my favorite bands, such as Imagine Dragons and Coldplay. I'm also a big fan of rock, but not as much as alternative.

I'll listen to just about anything besides classical and heavy metal.

I don't really have a favourite genre, I just go by how the song/artist(s) sounds really and go from there. I listen to a lot of alternative/indie stuff I guess though.

Yes! I love Weird Al! Ever since I was a kid I've listened to his music; that guy is a genius, I don't care what anybody says. xD

"Eeeeeeverything you know is wrong!
Black is white, up is down, and short is long,
and everything you thought was just so important
DOESN'T MATTER!" xDD
