Title says it all :D

But for those who dont understand, genre is a word also. For example, my favourite fics to write are Pokemon Journey fics. Or maybe a Rewrite of a game fic. If you know what i mean :D

But for reading, my favourite has to be comical/comedy pokemon fics.

So what about you?

I enjoy reading journey fics if they are well done and different than the typical. I enjoy writing expansion.

For reading, I prefer the adventure and fantasy ones. Sometimes sci-fi is also fine.

For writing, I specifically concentrated in adventure and fantasy only.

Mostly action or adventure. Oh, and some romance too.

I am a huge fan of action/adventure fics.

As much as I like technothrillers, I yet have to see a Pokémon technothriller.

Something with a planned foundation, but the freedom for other writers to effect the outcome. Something where challenges are presented that would make the writers dig a bit deeper. To see something brought up in an RP sense where the other writer is more inclined to reveal more about them self and forget this is a fantasy RP.

When RP breaks the wall into philosophy everything becomes more intense.

I love journey fics. I love the development that can take place over time and the adventure that the characters go thru.

One where a fantasy world is looked at through a realistic perspective. Where a writer can make a reader think the fantastic situations have a scientific foundation and, at least for this world, everything being done is plausible.

anything that takes a well-worn genre and subverts your expectations.
If it's a journey fic, it has to do it from a different angle.

Also any story that grounds the Pokemon world, gives it just enough realism while still letting it be the Pokemon world (so nothing too grimdark).

I typically enjoy mysteries and romances the most. They just really grab me and make me want to know what happens next. And I simply love reading and writing about cute couples!

But I also enjoy some medieval fantasy, which is a reason I love Zelda and Fire Emblem. ^^

EDIT - Never mind, just double checked the rules. Anyway, yes, I like to have a bit of realism without it necessarily being dark

I enjoy the Slice of Life genre and also stories that look at some character in more depth by showing the events of the series through his eyes. A certain fanfic of Final Fantasy VI (Of Sketch Pads and Shadows is the name, if you're a fan of the game you should totally check it out) told the story starting from the first time you met Relm in-game and it was all in Shadow's P.O.V, his inner struggles due to a conflict between his nature as a cold-hearted assassin and the fact that he eventually does start to care about Relm made the fanfic very interesting to read and turned those two characters into my favorite ones of the game, so I can really respect someone who can show so much depth that anyone else could've thought of in a story.

In general I love stories that are more character-drivem since I enjoy seeing the characters go through different situations, interacting with new or familiar people and in general living their lives while we get to know more about their story.

I definitely love Shipping the most. Especially Slash and anything else Taboo in the real world.
