PLEASE, lets try not to hate on anybody, these are JUST opinions, please dont get upset because someone doesnt have the same favorites and dislikes as you.

To start off, i LOVE Gold & Silver, i grew up with it for 1, and i just think the filler and non-filler flow into each other so well, i love it so much <3
but, im not a big fan of Black & White, it just seemed really slow, and all that stuff with N or whatever, i didnt care to watch past the season honestly

what're your guy's favorites and disliked?
and please, lets be nice to each other on this, okay?

It's a toss up between DP and XY as my favorite. I think I'd say DP is my top favorite, it is a longer series and due to that, the story is more fleshed out. XY is a very close second, and I think the writers did they best they could given the amount of time they had for the series.

I enjoy the R/S/E games, but the related anime is kinda boring to me. That said, it did have some memorable characters (Ash's Sceptile and it's pre-evolutions ftw).

Battle Frontier was really well done, I prefer the BF anime to the ingame facilities.

BW - the anime has a lot of potential to be great, but I think better choices could have been made in terms of character development and dialogue. Ash's companions are kind of bland and dull to me (Cilan actually annoys me), and that other one... well, her character in the games is great, and it was a disservice to her to make her so angry.

OS/Gold & Silver - if it weren't for the nostalgia factor, I probably would never watch these series.

My most favourite is Diamond and Pearl, least favourite Black and White. Although, Sun and Moon could rival my love of DP! I just love the characters and development of the series in DP, the writers did very well in balancing filler episodes and contests and gym battles. They did really well with character development and it was very smooth.

Black and White was approached poorly. Storylines were not developed enough and there were too many filler episodes. Ash had too many rivals and most of them didn't have character development.

My Favorite Series in the Anime is Pokemon the series: XY; Because of How Competant Ash is, and because of Ash-Greninja, AND especially because of Amourshipping
My LEAST Favorite Series in the Anime is Pokemon the series: Sun & Moon; Because of the Artstyle, and How Ash has become a Human Pincushion, and How the Goal is just to graduate and They turned my FAVORITE Gen 7 Pokemon, Mimikyu, and instead of being the most sympathizable Pokemon it was in the lore of the games; they Turned it into a Cliche Genocidal Monster who wants to KILL ALL PIKACHU!!!

A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon's rag to a passing Trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night.

Which part of that say that Mimikkyu is a Pikachu killing psychopath?
None, but the way p0pp1i0D3f3nd3r phrased it, it seems as if Mimikyu is a super cute Pokémon that has no creepy side to it whatsoever, with its personality of being antagonistic towards Pikachu in the anime being a major change of what it's like in the games. That is simply not true in my opinion. Totally fine if one doesn't enjoy Mimikyu in the anime, but it's not like it's a cute snuggly Pokémon in the games or anything like that.

I thought that "it has to cover itself constantly because when people see it's true form they die" thing was what make it relatable to the people in the first place? I mean, look at these:
A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon.
Although it's a quiet, lonely Pokémon, if you try to look at what's under its rag, it will become agitated and resist violently.
After going to all the effort of disguising itself, its neck was broken. Whatever is inside is probably unharmed, but it's still feeling sad.
If its neck is broken or its rag torn during an attack, it works through the night to patch it.
It stands in front of a mirror, trying to fix its broken neck as if its life depended on it. It has a hard time getting it right, so it's crying inside.

Yes, so? These Pokédex entries also imply it has a darker and more violent side. Plus, "Me... me... curse you." doesn't exactly portray it as a cute snuggly Pokémon either. But eh different points of view I suppose. I don't mind how Mimikyu is portrayed because I don't see it as a major shift of how it is portrayed in the anime. And even IF it were a major shift, so what? Pokémon have different personalities too.

Anyway, I digress from the main topic of this topic, just felt like pointing that out.

Now onto answering the question of this thread: controversially, DP would be my least favourite series for various reasons. Not worst, I acknowledge it did a lot of things right. It's just the series I've enjoyed the least. And my favourite would be OS. I'm also enjoying the heck out of SM but I find it way too early to say if it's one of my favourites or not.

Where did p0pp1i0D3f3nd3r say that Mimikkyu has no dark side? Where did p0pp1i0D3f3nd3r say that Mimikkyu is a super cute and snuggly pokemon? I still fail to see your point.

It's the same thing, no?

"The most sympathizable Pokemon". That's some pretty strong words which I just happen to disagree with and do not see the same way. Let's keep it at a different point of view.
It's the same thing, no?
Uhhhh, no? How is that even remotely the same thing? One can look at an amazing painting painted by one of the world's greatest painters and acknowledge its magnificence and the craftmanship, but still say they do not like the painting because it's just not their cup of tea. I think DP did some great things for the show and I can totally see why it's the best for many people, but I just have never been able to enjoy it aside from a few episodes/arcs.

But if it's the least favourite painting in the world for you, shouldn't it has to be the worst painting ever for you?

Well, no. Again, I simply don't see how that's the same thing. Is every movie/tv series/band/song/piece of art etc. that you don't happen to like the absolute worst of it's category? Or can you look at something and say: "Well, it's not for me, but I see why others do like it." IF it were the worst painting in the world for me, I would say I hate everything about the painting, that it has no value whatsoever and that I don't understand why it's so popular, yada yada. In this case, I acknowledge what DP means to the anime and to a lot of the fans, but it just happens not to be my cup of tea.

If we're talking about personal preferences, then your least favourite X is also your worst X, what other people say shouldn't be a matter. SM is still the worst pokemon series for me, no matter how many people praise it.

Being worst is a relative thing. For example my country could be the worst country in europe, but it's still better than the most countries in the world. You don't have to hate everything about something to call it worst at something.

Well we'll just have to agree to disagree on that then. I don't see how that makes any sense, but whatever. My least favourite series is DP, but to me the worst series in terms of quality is BW. The latter is not my least favourite series however, because there is still things in there that I enjoy better than DP. There is a clear cut difference in that to me because one is about personal taste, and one is about objectively looking at something, but I suppose that's not something we're going to agree on.

Unpopular opinion, I didn't like XY/Z. To me it felt like it pandered to the "Ash sucks because he never won a League, Red is better he's a bad*** he won the Kanto League and climbed Mt. Silver and was defeated by some kid from Johto)" type fans. I hated anime Serena even though I love her design. Ash talked to her 1 time and she already fell in love with him. She started her journey with the only purpose of giving Ash his handkerchief back, and had literally no reason to keep traveling with Ash, Clemont and Bonnie for most of XY (not XYZ). If it wasn't for the whole knockoff Contests Showcases thing she just would be there for Ash.

As for my favorite series, the Sun & Moon series is the one I'll pick. It's super fun and enjoyable. I'm a sucker for comedy so that might be why I like this one so much :p

Yeah I wasn't a huge fan of Serena's development. But the aesthetics of XYZ were really good so I enjoyed it. I liked the gym battles and the Pokemon but again there wasn't enough character development and Ash-Greninja really annoyed me because it stole the limelight. I did like the final few episodes where they had to save Kalos though.

I didn't like Greninja, too. I know Ash always has a "team ace", but this was too much. That's one of the reasons why I like Sun & Moon too, the fact that even if Lycanroc is important, it doesn't steal the spotlight from the rest of Ash's team.

The final episodes were pretty good. I'm always happy to see the regional evil team in the anime.
