Which type of Pokémon do you oftenly use to catch Pokémon? It doesn't matter which game we're talking about here!

Do you prefer to catch Pokémon quickly with the Quick Ball, or weaken them first and catch with an Ultra Ball? Or perhaps just throw as many Timer Balls as you can until it works? Or do you prefer style over usability, and catch every Pokémon with a Luxury Ball?

Personally, I usually always run a False Swipe + Hypnosis user in my teams so I can get the Pokémon's health as low as possible and prevent it from fainting itself with recoil or self-destructing moves. Then I throw an Ultra Ball. If I'm not in the mood to do all this process to catch a Pokémon, I just go with the good old Quick Ball.

Quick Ball and Dusk Ball are the two I use the most often. I usually like to play at night, so the Dusk Ball is great for me. Both of them have good designs, too.

Great topic! I generally try to match the Pokémon’s color scheme as best I can but when I’m just picking favorites it’s gotta be Premiere Ball, Luxury Ball, and Dive Ball!

Usually it's whatever has the best catch rate in a scenerio. So 6 times out of 10, the Quick Ball or Ultra Ball lol.

During the story, I'll default to Ultra Balls, but post game and stuff when my Pokemon can survive hits better, I'll feel way more safe and free to throw a Quick Ball at the start first, before relying on Ultra Balls.

If it's one of my top favorite mon though, I'll give it the special treatment of a Love Ball (assuming it's available in game), purely cause it's my favorite ball aesthetically. They're usually pretty rare anyway, so i think of it as a special occasion

Quick ball or timer ball if they are giving me a hard time. Rarely I would try to match the pokeball with the particular pokemon I’m trying to catch, I’m not very patient for that.

I have no real preference. I just use what might have the best chance of catching a Pokémon. I don't even really use Pokeballs on Pokémon that seem match their color scheme in Tera Raid Battles.

Usually Quick Balls, Ultra Balls, or Luxury Balls.

Quick Balls if I don't particularly want to battle and weaken the Pokemon in that moment. I get pretty lucky at times in catching the 'mon with one quick ball at the start of the encounter.

Assuming that fails though, then I default to Ultra Balls once I weaken the 'mon. Or if I don't have any quick balls then I'll just use ultra balls overall with the usual song and dance.

Luxury Balls I like for the aesthetic mostly, so I tend to use them only on 'mons I really like or sometimes if I have an idea for a nickname for a 'mon as an indicator that I really like the character I named them after or if I named them after a late pet.

Sometimes I'll use Timer Balls for longer than usual battles, mainly for legendaries though. Pokeballs and Great Balls are only used for early game or if, for some reason, they're the only ones I have left after exhausting all my other balls previously.

I use whatever Poké Ball is likely to be the best for catching Pokémon. When it becomes available, I tend to go for the Ultra Ball first. If it's against a Pokémon that tends to run away a lot, I'll use the Quick Ball. If it's going to be a long battle against a Pokémon that won't flee, I'll use the Timer Ball, but those are mostly for Legendary Pokémon.

Same here! ;)

The Luxury Ball's literally my favorite Poké Ball along with the Friend Ball, great choice! (y)

It depends on the pokemon.
If I don't care, I just want to complete the pokedex or something, it's Quick/Repeat/Ultra Ball, or Super Ball if I am low on Ultra.
Sometimes I want to tell a story with this pokemon, I want to travel with them or just have them as mates, that's when I use other balls. For Water type, I prefer Dive Ball. For juveniles or pokemon with some healing abilities, or sometimes I am just trying to be nice, Heal Ball. Sometimes Timer Ball works too, but it is rare. If I can't decide, Luxury/Premier can't go wrong.

I try to go for color coordination if I can. However, I know that this only tends to make things harder to catch overall.

The Quick Ball is my preferred ball to catch Pokemon with. In my opinion, it is THE best Pokéball because of how reliable it is and how high the multiplier is.

It usually does. I happen to have a hell of a story regarding that very thing catching a Trapinch in the Haina Desert in Pokemon Sun with the one and only Friend Ball you get in the game.

i like having everyone on my team in different balls! if i'm putting together a team (especially a vgc team), i'll mull over each pokemon and pick a ball for them based on vibes or appearances (for example, a level ball for a torkoal or a dream ball for a hatterene). if it's a team i'm building more organically over a playthrough, i typically have a pretty good idea of whether i'll use a certain pokemon or not and try to pick a ball that's fitting enough without overlapping my other pokemon.
though my absolute favorite is the luxury ball, it's just so snazzy

like a lot of others have already mentioned, color coordination is always nice, especially if i particularly like the pokemon's design/aesthetic :chansey: quick balls will always be my go-to for reliability though.

there's something really nice about a classic pokeball though! a lot of times i like to try to catch legendaries in regular pokeballs just for the satisfaction of it lol. also, shoutout to the premier ball +_+ i love its sleek design

I usually buy Quick Balls as soon as they are available, once you've thrown a Quick Ball its really hard to go back to regular Poke Balls lol.

I also love Heal and Love Balls because they're so cute? Also own quite a few Pokemon in Dusk and Moon Balls since I often play at night lol.
