When Did You Get Into The Series?

For me, I got into the series when I was 5 years old in the Spring/Summer of 2000 (about 5 months before Gen 2 started) when I saw Pokemon Stadium on display at a local Walmart. I just fell in love with the series the moment I played the game and sometime later (maybe a few weeks or so), I got Pokemon Blue and Yellow followed by Gold when it came out a few months later. 13 years later, I'm still loving the series and i'm eagerly wating for the release of X & Y.

So when did you get into the series?

I actually got into it about 2 or 3 years ago. Even though I never liked Pokemon as a little kid, I always loved the movies, and they were the only thing about Pokemon I liked (I didn't even know that the series was based off games back then). I loved Absol from the Jirachi movie, I thought Giratina and Shaymin were cool from that other movie, so when Zoroark: Master of Illusions premiered, I got excited. I saw it on the night of the premiere, and thought Zorua and Zoroark were the coolest Pokemon EVER. So after the movie ended, I immediately went onto the internet to discover more about them (and to google what the heck a Charmander looked like).

About a month later, I bought White version, which is the first DS game I actually finished. Then I started watching the original gen 1 anime and loved it, then I got Black 2 (in which I had the best Pokemon moments ever). Now, I'm hoping to buy X version on the day it comes out. But coming into the series so late makes me wish I had a gameboy as a kid so I could play the classics...

waaaay back in 1998 when life was good and pokemon was on a bit after getting home from preschool and back when we had cartoons after school. my first game was crystal in 2000 or 2001 (cant remember exact year)

I got into Pokemon during 2006/2007. I was first acquainted with the franchise by the anime, but I did not consider myself a Pokemon fan until I played Pokemon Ruby for the first time. I spent over 9000 200 hours on that game alone. I completed the Hoenn dex and defeated the Elite Four countless times. Eventually, I played Pokemon Fire Red and defeated their Elite Four that many times as well. I played Pokemon Pearl and was extremely pumped for Pokemon Heart Gold. I possibly placed more time in Heart Gold than I did in Ruby. Then Black and White came around. While I liked the games, I quit Pokemon a few months after that. I returned in time for Black 2 and now await Pokemon X and Y. (I just recently pre-ordered X a few days ago.)

I got into the series back in 1999. I borrowed a Game Boy and a Pokémon Blue cartridge from a friend and played it for months. I am a fan since that day, though I almost left the franchise back in the Gen 2 era, because it sucked, but gladly Gen 3 was released and it made me love the franchise even more than I did before.

when i was younger, a wee one year old i fell very ill with pneumonia so I was bed ridden and a show came on like no other it showed a boy in his green pjs getting ready for his journey with these wonderful creatures , i wanted to see more of this and that funny yellow creature electrocuting people like the likes of team rocket, I can even say my first hand held was a silver pokemon gameboy color with pikachu's cheek being where the light was,

Well When the First series are on. I am 15 years old so it has been a while. my favorite 2 trainers are Dawn and May. And my favorite gym leader is Skyla.
