Basically you post when you started playing your latest Pokémon game. I'm curious when folks started playing and their experiences since then.

For me, I bought Platinum version 5 days after it came out, although I've restarted numerous times after that. Currently my latest adventure began on my 18th birthday (Nov. 12). So it's been a bit over a month thus far, and I've already got nearly 300 Pokémon logged! :-D I may start playing again on New Year's Day, though...
 
Um, beginning of last month. Emerald. I finished two weeks ago.
 
Bought Platinum on... June? Don't remember, some time during summer though. And I'm still playing it (mostly just training some Pokes competitively)
 
I started Platinum June 1st, and thats what I consider my "main game". I also started LeafGreen in September (middle of the month?) and just beat the elite four today.
 
Began Diamond on January 21st 2008. I only started to really get into it last month when I was ill for a couple of weeks and had nothing else to do between naps; so I'm only now starting to work on the fourth gym. Wake best prepare to feel the wrath of my magikarp... ;)
 
I started LeafGreen about two weeks ago. I'm not playing anymore until the 27th, because me and some friends are waiting outside a store for 7 hours for a boxing day sale on that day. Need something to do.
 
I restarted my Diamond version again recently. I always like starting a new adventure in my games and choosing different Pokemon to catch for my party.

For instance, this time I picked Turtwig as my starter, and I caught an Abra, Machop, Pachirisu, and Shellos for my other Pokemon.​
 
Since I really don't restart that often, so my newest would be Platinum, started I think April 22nd, 09. I managed to start all three from this generation on the same day a year apart.

I'm actually putting off playing any of the games until HGSS comes out, so the excitement will hit me in full force.
 
I too bought Platinum just a few days after it was released.
I knew Gamestop had a Shaymin event...but didn't think it would help me because I didn't have Diamond and Pearl... and discovered too late that I could download it for Platinum for about a week after:p
Either way the day I decided to buy Platinum..being soon after the release date..it was sold out everywhere... I had little time to reach the buss back home, but ended up missing two because I didn't want to go home without what I came for...it would just feel wasted..
I finally found the game at ToysRus and only just reached a buss home XD...and then I had to be picked up by my dad in my home-town because (as usual) that bus didn't go all the way to my home (I need to change buses every time but sometimes there simply isn't one that goes to my home)
I didn't have a DS so I used my brother's:p

I was going to start with Piplup but at the last minute I changed my mind and picked Chimchar XD He's now my first trained-to-level 100 Pokèmon:D (Trained too meaning I've had level 100s before...either given rare candies by cheating or traded, as is the case of my Entei and Arceus)
My Pokedex? 476 after playing for 6 months:D I have every Pokèmon actually available in Platinum so there's not a lot for me to do right now, except training the rest of my party to level 100 XD (Most are level 99:3)
 
My latest adventure would have began three days after Pokemon Platinum was released. My first adventure was playing my brother's copy of Pokemon Blue like a madman. (It's amazing how far we've come.)
 
There is not a GBA/DS Pokemon game that I have not finished in less than 2 days (Become champion). The GC games took me about 5 days to finish (Purifying all shadows) and PBR has taken be just over a week to finish (Up to Stargazer Set 8)
 
started XD a week ago, finished it 3 days ago (though I haven't purifed them all...)

My latest game is Platinum. I got it the day it came out, and continued to play it until june-july. Might get back into it now, or wait till hgss.
 
ok um well i never have really stopped playing pokemon. so i guess my adventure started back on pokemon red in 1998?
