When do you think the actual Unova League will end, to make way for a possible filler arc?

I think the actual league will end by about 130 episodes, and the last 60 episodes will be a filler arc, just like with AG. But what do you think?

i think that it would end around 133 episodes. then they make filler episode about the lendradarys!

If they continue as they are now, we could possibly be close to the league by this time next year. There is no telling, however, if they will continue with their more sluggish pace and make it last longer. No one guaranteed a filler saga, so we can't say that right now. It is far too soon to make this prediction.

Yes but series will have to try to wrap up side plots and have maybe evolutions.

The way I see it the ending could lag on the same way DP did so I can easily see us in Unova for about 2 more years maybe.

Well, I also did an analysis of how many gyms they can usually do in a year, and this is hardly the most gyms they've done in that time. Heck, the original saga did 6 of the gyms in one year. We've had 4 gyms in one year at least two times before, and they usually do 3 gyms in a year. DP was sort of slower, but I find it strangely more evenly distributed, with the exception of there only being one gym for an entire year. Yeah, they could easily make this last at least two more years, and they'd be seriously pushing it to do 4 gyms in a year again. (not to mention that all they'd have left is the league)

Ash and co. are going to reach Driftveil City by Episode 60 so it is very likely that Ash will earn his fifth badge at around the 60-70 range.

It's going to be a very difficult question to answer because we don't know when the next main game expansions are due to come out. We also would not know if the writers are indeed going to have a massive episode gap between Ash earning his seventh and eighth badges. (It seems likely considering that Drayden is a very powerful trainer.)

I'd say that Ash will be in the Unova League at around Episode 131. The pacing so far is slightly faster than Hoenn's pacing, but I bet that we will get a larger gap between the seventh and eighth badges. The possible inclusion of Team Plasma near the end of the series also makes it reasonable for a potential massive gap to take place.

DP was sort of slower, but I find it strangely more evenly distributed, with the exception of there only being one gym for an entire year.

DP more evenly distributed? So the 31 episode gap between Ash earning his second and third badges and the 6 episode gap between Ash earning his fifth and sixth badges makes that more evenly distributed than what BW has so far?

I didn't do an ep by ep analysis. I found it pointless since the pacing is never stable. Then again, it isn't stable when done on a year by year basis, either, which is what I was doing. What I found in DP was that the first year had only two gyms; the second had three, and the third year had two again. Unfortunately, that equals 7, and the last year was the one gym and the League.
