Whenever I visit a forum and check the threads I've posted in, if I hover the cursor over the envelope with a black dot, I'm told I have X posts and "go to my last post." If I left-click, I inevitably wind up in page one of the thread. What's going on?

That happens to me alot too, I usually have to browse before I find my post in a big topic.

I've also noticed, sometime when I post it will be at the bottom of a page, but then a few minutes later it starts a new page!

I think that is easily explainable: Using Quick Reply adds the post to the page without reloading it. The only change in this case is if any posts are made while you were writing yours. (Edit: Like Archaic's above post. :p) However, the page limit still applies and so the standard is simply not seen until you leave that page.

If it happens differently, then I dunno...

Not quite. Now if I hover the cursor over the envelope, I get "you have X posts in this thread, last mm/dd/yy." Click and nothing happens. I suppose it's an improvement from before in that it doesn't dump me in page one. If I can't go directly to my last post, could you at least tell me what page it's on?

Thought I'd bump this thread so the people in charge don't forget.

Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
