Where are Pikachu's ear holes?

Pikachu have 2 ears on top of their heads, but where are the ear holes???

I guess its due to the drawing style. I've seen fanarts of it having ears similar to a rabbit's, so that's where I assume they are, just concealed.

Maybe his ears detect the vibrations and transmit them into sound. In some episodes his ear twitches and he seems to be the only or first one to hear it.

I second that. That seems most likely, with Pikachu being an electromagnetic rat.

Pikachu isn't the only pokemon that doesn't have ear holes ,besides, it's not like Sugimori/People who animate the episodes would go into such great detail as to give them ear holes.

Also, I like the theory of Pikachu sensing vibrations.

Pikachu is just a drawing in the anime. It needn't have ear holes.
