I keep getting infractions for things that I did not know are wrong, such as "Thread necromancy", and "Double posting (I know that is wrong, but I didn't know that it was wrong to post the same thing in two totally different places. I cannot find the rules anywhere. Until I find them, this thread will be proof that I "have received an infraction at Bulbagarden Forums. Reason: Violating yet another of Bulbagarden's unwritten rules. Points: 5". In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if someone gave me an infraction like this: "You have received an infraction at Bulbagarden Forums. Reason: Beating an admin's high score in the arcade. Points: 100". I am just joking on the last one, but it could be a very real possibility with all of the unwritten rules.

Mods: Do not give me an infraction for this post. The highly abridged version of the rules that I was able to find clearly permit it (section 1, paragraph 3). However, these rules were highly abridged, and do not mention specifics except about flaming.

This is the closest thing to rules: click

The rules here are pretty much forum common sense, though..

Most of them are common sense. Don't double post (there are a few small exceptions to that rule, though rarely do they come up since everyone can edit and/or delete their own posts), don't insult others, if you're making a post in a thread in which the last post was over a month ago, make sure you're REALLY adding something, and not just saying "I agree" or something similar. Don't advertise your personal site outside of your sig (i.e., don't start a thread just to say "hey, come to my site"), don't post one-word posts (unless the thread itself is dedicated to one-word responses. Favorite Pokemon, for instance, could just be a one-word response. Certain games, etc.) or...two-word, or three-word (basically, TRY to add something. Though, really, the spam infraction is only given out when it's a generally stupid post that isn't quite trolling).

And I'm sure there are a few others that I've just completely forgotten about. We used to have a really good list, but I BELIEVE it's buried in the announcements. Because I know we ironed it out at one point, and I know evkl (I'm...90% certain it was him) posted it somewhere where all could see it.

Well, here's a thing listing things for which you get infractions. I wonder if it should be stickied....

You act like there's some conspiracy or something.

The fact is you broke two very common sense rules--don't bump threads everyone lost interest in some time ago, and don't post the same thing in two places. If we read it one place, there's no reason to post it in another--it's not like you get points for the number of people who see your text.

Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
