Where did all my berries go?

So I remember when I was starting the game, there were berries everywhere I went, now they all disappeared. Is there any way that they can come back, or do I have to grow berries myself?

If berries aren't picked within a certain amount of time, they wilt and die.

They come back if you haven't picked them, but they take time to grow back in. I'm currently waiting for most of the berries to regrow because I didnn't pick them when I went through the game the first time, or the first time they regrew.

I could be mistaken, but this vaguely sounds like you didn't re-plant any berries after you picked them. Yes, you have to grow them yourself - they don't spontaneously re-grow on their own after you've picked them.

I didn't pick any berries since I don't like the Super Contests, not to mention I never really used their beneficial effects in combat.

yeah. It even says in the game that if you don't pick the berries, they drop off and die, but sprout again. (R/S/E) A character comments after telling you that - "Isn't it neat, it's like they have the will to live!"

Basically, they will regrow over a long period of time, so long as youi didn't pick them.

There is a chance they won't regrow at all too.

But they only regrow a certain number of times before vanishing completely.

If you have ignored the berries for so long that they've died out for good, the only way to replenish the stock of berries is to get a free berry from the Berry Master on Route 208 or the girl in the Flower Shop in Floaroma (for the common berries) and Amity Square or the woman in the last house in Pastoria (for the more rare). You can also steal a lot of berry types from wild Pokemon.
