Today, a well-known Japanese Pokemon fanart site - Pokesho, updated with a really cool material about Pokeballs.

Here is the direct link to it.

There is generally lots of hot material there, it's an awesome article.

But one think about this article has caught my interest more intensely.

It's THIS art. It's definitely Sugimori's early style. It's a Battle scene showing a Lass with a Pikachu. WHERE IS THIS ART FROM?! It shows a page number (4), so it definitely comes from some old book. Also, on the other side of the art, there's Ivysaur's Trainer. This could be Red or someone else. I don't know. But I would DIE for seeing the full artwork (and more such artworks, if they exist).

Does anyone know anything about this art? Or, by any chance, could anyone fluent in Japanese contact Pokesho? This artwork is a must-have.

I can't read Japanese, so I'm no help at all i'm afraid.

The first link had some pretty cool stuff, but those pokeball comic were... odd to say the least. Anyone else think a Masterball pokewalker would be awsome?!

Didn't Game Freak used to publish a gaming magazine before they got into game-production? Could be from an old issue or something...

Sugimori used to draw a good amount of R(G)B art "outside" of the game. However, they're all so old it's kind of tough to find them all. And Lasses were a lot more popular back then too :\

As for the one you've shown, I haven't seen that one before. But it's probably from an old gaming mag.

I find it kind of interesting that Poké Balls broke into 2 pieces and it stayed on the ground.
